Taza Deli & Cafe — Restaurant in Redwood City

We were originally planning to get Mexican food, but as we passed by this sandwich shop, we decided to switch things up and wow, are we glad we did! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by all three gentlemen working there. The customer service was top-notch, friendly, welcoming, and full of great energy.

We ordered the BLT on white sourdough, planning to split just one sandwich… and immediately regretted not ordering two. It was absolutely delicious, perfectly toasted, fresh ingredients, and packed with flavor.

My daughter doesn’t like tomatoes, so she asked to have the sandwich without them, and one of the guys jokingly said, “So… just a BL then?” We all laughed, it was just such a great vibe all around. Felt like we were around family!!!

As pickle lovers, we asked for extra pickles, and they did not skimp. They gave us a generous amount, and they were crunchy, fresh, and simply amazing. Honestly, some of the best pickles I’ve ever had!

The older gentleman at the register had us cracking up with his witty humor and charm. I told him I was going to write this review, and he said, “Just make sure you put in there that you’re the pickle lover lady!” So if you’re reading this, as promised, that’s me! Outstanding sandwich! I was at the hospital waiting for someone and went looking for somewhere to eat lunch that I could grab and go, this cafe caught my high with its high rating. I'm so glad I gave it a try. The eggplant sandwich was tasty and fresh, several addtions to the eggplant ro compliment. The service was very good as well, I didn't have to wait too long. Taza Deli makes the best sandos around. They have the BEST sourdough rolls this side of SF: crunchy, but not too crunchy, on the outside, and soft and sourdoughy goodness interior. The meat, spreads, and veggies are outstanding. Hands down the best sandos on the mid peninsula. The family that operates the deli are sando craftsmen and wonderful people: polite, friendly, welcoming, helpful, positive attitude, always get the order correct, and a pleasure to interact with.
