I visited this restaurant for the first time yesterday for the July 4 holiday. Before I dive into my review I do want to say Lucas was a great bartender who was very friendly and gave helpful recommendations on the area. Now, my fiancé and I ordered a salad and two sandwiches as our entree. My food was given to another guest and had to be remade. By the time it came my fiancé was done eating and I lost my appetite. (Mistakes happen so I didn’t make it a big deal, however, we were not compensated in any way for the mishap). This cafe closes at 3pm and we left around 2 and went directly back to our car to cool off before walking over to the beach. I realized I had left my purse at the bar (hooks underneath); it was 305 pm Lucas allowed me to check and looked himself no purse. He also stated no one had come in and sat anywhere near where I was and it was slow as they were close to shutting down after we left. I was informed there were cameras but when I spoke to the owner on today 7/5 I was informed the cameras are broken and that no one would steal while asking the employees whether they saw or turned a purse in. Let’s be honest a thief would not admit to their boss they stole a purse and I am sure as an owner she wants to defend her employees. However, I strongly believe an employee here took it. I know the Rehoboth area is not the kind of place where bad things happen but what else am I supposed to believe? The last hour before closing; no one else comes in and my purse magically disappears?I did a tracking on my AirPods and the last location was this cafe. I would hate for this to happen to anyone; that said, please keep an eye on belongings if you visit this place and the cameras “are down”. This entire incident cost me money and time and a very frustrating 3 hour drive home back to MD. Mimosas...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Sunny Bay Cafe, and despite the bustling atmosphere and a slightly extended wait for our meal, the overall experience left me thoroughly impressed. What truly stood out was the exceptional service provided by our waitress, which turned a potentially ordinary meal into an extraordinary one.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, it was evident that Sunny Bay Cafe was a popular spot. While our meal did take a bit longer than anticipated, the wait was well worth it considering the quality of the food and service we enjoyed.
What truly made our dining experience exceptional was the outstanding service provided by our waitress. Despite the busy environment, she managed to create a warm and engaging atmosphere at our table. Her attentiveness and genuine interaction with our young children was authentic. She went out of her way to make them feel special, engaging them in conversation with every visit to our table.
Her ability to balance a busy workload while maintaining enthusiasm and warmth added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal, turning it into a memorable family experience.
In terms of the food itself, Sunny Bay Cafe did not disappoint. The flavors of each dish were rich and satisfying.
Despite the overall length of our meal and the bustling atmosphere, it's the exceptional service provided by our waitress that truly sets Sunny Bay Cafe apart. Her engaging nature and genuine interaction with our children made us feel like treasured guests, elevating the entire experience. I would gladly return to Sunny Bay Cafe in the future, knowing that not only will the food be delicious, but the service will be...
Read moreHappy St. Paddy's Day 2023. Laurie the owner has created a full authentic menu of Irish delights, both eats and drinks. The Potato Leek soup is over the top good. Authentic Donnely sausage in puff pastry, corned beef and cabbage, Tullamore irish coffee, adult hot chocolate and more. If that isn't enough, she also made a Guinness chocolate cake with a Baileys cream icing. They are open till 3. Full menu all day. Everything is wonderful.
It was my second visit to SBC and had breakfast both visits. Today, there were 5 of us and we all enjoyed different dishes. I love their crepes. Today I enjoyed the veggie, with a side of perfectly cooked well done bacon. The crepes remind me of my favorite place in Key West, Banana Cafe. Their savory crepes comes with some greens with a light dressing. That sounds like enough for a great breakfast but oh no, I read about their crab cakes and ordered one of them as well. Being from Baltimore, great crab cakes are scarce here. This was wonderful, on par with my Baltimore favorite, from Pappas's. One person had the classic Sunny Bay breakfast, another the pancakes which she said were great. One had the Greek omelet and she liked that very much, and another had the chicken cordon blue crepe, also wonderful. To finish off the feast, we 5 shared 2 sweet crepes, the blueberry cream, chock full of fresh blueberries a silky cream and whipped cream. The other sweet crepe was the apple and that too was wonderful. I can't wait to get back there and enjoy more of their menu, and...
