Been eating here for over 10 yrs always ordering the same lunch special; chicken broccoli, spicy. Today after the recent ownership change, and a new, different cook, it was served NOT spicy and over salted ( and I like salt!). Less than 2 hrs. later(!) had cramps, an upset stomach and diarrahea. This after a price increase recently to boot. Will try only one more time and if not pleased will not return. Ugh. Be advised. . 8/1/23 update: tried again today and ordered their $13.95. (!) Duck lunch special. The duck served was undercooked, the fried rice soggy and egg flower soup had such little egg it shouldn't even be named that. The new ownership is charging way more then value offered, skimping on ingredient amounts and portions, and now effectively destroyed one of my long time favorite Reno restaurants. Anyone who believes this is in any way more deserving of 1 star has never eaten quality...
Read moreWhat can I say other than, "WOW!" Had passed by Chinese 🇨🇳 Duck House SEVERAL times and each time just happened to be the day they were closed for some reason or another. You know the food is good at a place when it arrives and a table, once buzzing with excited conversation and chatter, goes silent and all you hear are utensil clanking and scraping and random slurping and smacking 😋. The chefs definitely know what they are doing back in the kitchen, to say the least. Chinese Soul and Comfort Food, at...
Read moreUsed to love coming here, but man, has it sure gone downhill. My husband and I decided to try this place again after not going for almost a year. He went in to pick up our phone order and said the whole place reeked of nasty moldy fishtank. The interior was dirty and very poorly maintained for a food establishment. Also, since when did each entree cost $18.00 dollars a piece and barley weight anything? The portions are much smaller than they used to be. ( photo for reference) And sadly the food was not worth the trip or money at all. The honey walnut shrimp was so old tasting and tough, although the sauce was okay. The house fried rice was decent, but the gross fishy aftertaste ruined it. I'm sad to say that my once favorite Chinese takeout place is now super overpriced, gross,...
