We once drove through a blizzard to pick up an order from this place, and told people good things about it. Then things started happening. We heard people in the kitchen complaining about us while we ate in the restaraunt (we just asked for sauce on the side). Then we had a pick-up order that was wrong, and when we complained the managers didnt even try to make it right and berated us for asking. When I posted a review the manager confronted us about it and demanded we change our review and star rating. Somehow, almost very post I've made about this place to warn people about it has been taken down. One of the most cringe worthy thing I've ever experienced in a restaurant is being told by a manager to change a review, as if I lived in China, and I have no freedom of speech. If the staff in the back don't like how you're dressed, or the color of your skin; you will hear them talking about you from your table. We told them we would never go back and we haven't. There are better Asian restaurants in Reno and Sparks. Skip this place. The...
Read moreChef specialties are a great go to. Whole fish featured a whole head-on branzino steamed with ginger, scallions, and sweet peppers that was shared by our table of six. Braised oxtail was unctious served sizzling in a deep dish hot pot. Rich collagen rendering leant a deeply satisfying beefiness to the dish. House crab fried rice with golden salty egg yolk reminded us of our favorite places in Hong Kong; Toronto and Houston Chinatowns. The deep fried green beans were in a breading seasoned simply with salt and pepper on a bed of shredded cabbage. The nice tempura crispiness had a saltiness that responded "yes, please" to the tangy aiolli dipping sauce. The squid was a revelation. Simply seasoned with a smoky crispness to the head and tentacle ends with the satisfying chewy central rings had a light earthy flavor that was well accompanied by a spicy green sauce. Excellent service. A gem a stone's throw from the...
Read moreMy husband and I are frequent travelers. We ate at this restaurant and ordered chicken fried rice and a lamb dish. The lamb was average nothing to brag about. The chicken fired rice and egg flower soup was tasty. So the next day I decided to buy an order of chicken fried rice, thinking it would compliment some salmon I bought at another restaurant. To my amazement, the chicken fried rice had about 3 or 4 snippets of chicken, even though it was $14.95 as compared with the lunch yesterday for $10.95. It appears this restaurant does the cheating on the to go orders. This is a first time in my experience at a Chinese restaurants. So we paid $14.95 plus tax for flavored rice. My tip to visitors is to opened the take out box before paying. As I’m sure they’d only short change tourists. I called and complained, the woman explained the chicken might have been very small. Indeed, INVISIBLE. MOST...
