Im vegetarian, came out of town...read all the high stars so decided to visit. It was my wife's birthday, and the young gentleman at the cash register with beard was very kind. Atmosphere was nice. I got the chicken sandwich and wife got the nachos. My wife liked the chicken sandwich I had...just needed more sause. However, after trying the nachos, it was cold, soggy, and small amount of beans, sauce etc. So I went back inside to ask to heat up nachos, and the young man was willing to exchange it with Crispy sandwich. The old, grumpy lady cook was rude and lazy at the time. She refused to exchange it and I told her to keep it because the coverings on nachos were very small, cold etc. My wife said the lady was starring her down as she was sitting down before we even got food. The cash register with beard was so embarrassed because he new those nachos were nasty and that older grumpy attitude cook in the back was wrong. He kept apologizing to me for her rude service. He gave me my money back, and she didn't make me another chicken sandwich. Won't go again because of the rude lady in the oook in the back. Improve her attitude and nachos, and more cooks in the back and business can do better. Thanks...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I visited recently to try the place out, and we were honestly a little disappointed. The lone server on the floor greeted us promptly and was pleasant to speak with, and we told him we would like to place an order to go. It took a while for him to take our order, but that's not really a big deal. We waited at the bar with some water for around 20 minutes or so for the food. The prices were relatively steep (12ish for a sandwich), and the food left a lot to be desired. They got my girlfriend's order completely wrong and gave her a different kind for chicken sandwich, as well as only providing the normal fries after paying for the carne asada fries. The meat alternative tasted good, but the sandwiches looked and tasted like something that could easily be put together at home in far less time. The fries were cold and soggy, as well as unseasoned. I had thought I'd be back to try the Mexican portion of the menu, but I fear I might spend too much on food that is not worth the price, and could in fact be the wrong...
Read moreThe animal fries are so bomb and the carne asada tacos my two favorites! The owner cooks the food & takes the orders. Family ran and hard workers. Everything on the menu is pretty much made of soy. The portions are SMALL especially for the price. You will probably end up spending at least $25-50 on one person. Which means I can't eat there as much as I want to but I'm happy to support a mom and pop shop when I can. I think the animal fries should be double in size to really get your money worth. I have tried a variety of things on the menu because it had such high ratings. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich to me personally it didn't have that much flavor and wasn't that spicy. The Mac & cheese is alright but if you’re a true Mac lover I wouldn’t suggest this. There business hours are short. But have been coming here for years! It's one of the only vegan spots in reno! They have a nice patio set up and inside is always clean, and in great condition! I really want to try...
