I really liked this place, the kindness of the service, the food and the atmosphere was great. ...until we ment Amber, who I think is the manager. Upon entering (mind you I have meen here multiple times now) a server had told me she'd have a table for me but if would be a little bit of a wait, which I didn't mind. An elderly couple entered after I did, and got seater almost right away. Which again, I did not mind. But I did ask Amber, who said that she was "waiting for my full party" (my mother, who was the only other person, was parking the car). So I waited, and them my mom arrived and she as soon as she saw her, refused service because she was ", " and "walked out on her cheesecakes" and "never tips". SO. My mother walked out on those cheesecakes because they were not the right flavor, she was not trying to be rude and was simply in a hurry.
My mother is not rude, that seemed like her personal opinion. And that by itself is not a solid cause for why we should be refused service. If anything, she is the one being "rude".
My mother does tip, although not often because she did not live in the states until recent. In our culture and country, we don't tip. It's still an adjustment. If you were so worried about that you could've said something. Again, you can communicate.
Mind you, this manager lady has not said anything prior to seeing my mom. Our table was 'ready'.
So in reality. Who is disrespectful? Who is rude? Fix your attitude, don't ruin other people's nights. Above all, never disrespect my...
Read moreWhat a disappointment! We have loved Johnny’s restaurant for our special dinners, so what could go wrong?? Before I go any farther, the food was good. My problem, one of most inattentive server I have had in a very long time. We met our daughter and her fiancé for lunch to discuss their upcoming wedding. We were seated outside in their garden area, which is nice. The first thing I noticed was the wobbling table, it was very loose. The server came out and took our order, completely devoid of a personality and walked off. Due to the sun, we requested to sit in a Mose shady table. Once moved to the new table I noticed it too was wobbly. It was so loose I was able to hand tighten one of the loose screws with my hand. After getting our lunch, which was good, the server never returned. Both my daughters lace tea and mine were empty. Our server walked by our table without offering to refill or drink or check how our lunch was. After a little bit later my daughter asked to have her drink refilled. The server did not even acknowledged my empty drink and walked away. About 5 minutes later one of the other servers offered and got us drink refills. About another 5 to 10 minutes later our server walked out with a pitcher of ice tea and turned around once she saw our drinks had been filled. That was the last time we saw her until we walked out, once again no recognition of us on...
Read moreThis was such a mixed bag. The entrees here (we got the vegetable lasagna and Porcini and Truffle ravioli) were good. The sauces were rich and well spiced, and the homemade pasta was great.
But the rest of the meal? We also ordered Caesar salads, which came absolutely drenched in an overly lemony dressing (and I can't believe I'm saying this, because usually I'm complaining that there isn't enough dressing). It also had what looked like canned parmesan on top - you know, the powdery stuff instead of the good grated Parmesan.
And before that, we ordered the cheese and home roasted almond plate, which we assumed would be 4 or 5 gourmet cheeses and some roasted and spiced almonds. What it ended up being was a small wedge of blue cheese, a small wedge of what tasted like muenster, and a wedge of similar size of what tasted like parmesan. It came with a bunch of grapes and very lightly roasted (still white), completely unseasoned almonds, and 4 slices of very lightly toasted (still white) bread. It lacked the sophistication commensurate with a...
