A review for “Pizza Factory” on Lakeside dr., Reno, Nevada, USA just in case you thought I was reviewing the wrong restaurant. Early 2024: New ownership changed everything and increased prices 20% in the last month, crust is no longer bubbly and good, sausage is just some generic stuff, I am speechless. I have eaten at Pizza Factory in many small towns since I was a toddler, I’ve lived in Reno for the last year and a half and ordered 23 (this confirmed by pizza factory) pizzas in that time, all exactly the same and all were absolutely wonderful, this was my favorite pizza, until today, new owners, cut costs and bad pizza… I called and told them I noticed the difference and they said “people prefer it this way” really? They prefer the cost of their medium pizza going from $22 to $26 within one month? They said the price increase is “state sales tax”, that is just not true, I called after I got home and confirmed the new ownership. and really, customers prefer the cut quality? Other long time customers must agree with me. How would any long time pizza factory customer prefer you switching from homemade ranch to some preservative ridden tasteless generic stuff… good luck with your business, I’d rather drive to Gardnerville or Carson or even Temecula California for the REAL Pizza factory… never coming back (here), I plan to eat pizza factory for life. I’m still in shock from this tragedy. Update: I tasted it, I ate two pieces, usually eat 4, it’s really, really bad, the crust is poor quality, heavy and glutinous as a rock, the sauce is different, cheese is much lower quality, the quality of the new sausage is truly sad to discuss compared to the old version, all in all it reminds me a lot of little Caesar’s, but I haven’t eaten that in years. It’s bad. I think I’ll look seriously into how a franchise can change a quality product to a cheap knockoff and still call themselves a Pizza Factory, maybe I’ll open my own. I’m truly sad to lose my favorite pizza. UPDATE: the owner has responded saying I reviewed the wrong restaurant, hahaha nope, they know exactly what they did, granted I have not been back since they changed all the ingredients, but any person who knows what Pizza Factory is, knows that these people completely changed it, the idea that they think we customers are fools is embarrassing on their part. If you wanna know what I mean, drive to the pizza factory out on Pyramid way or down in Carson. They say people “love this pizza” yeah maybe if you never ate a real pizza factory pizza, recently moved to Reno and tried this after you were used to eating Little Cesars or something crappy like that, yes this is likely better than little Caesar’s, but it is still crap, they did change the ingredients to cheaper poor quality products and they did increase the price greatly… still won’t go back to this location, I’ll just drive out to Spanish springs. Peace to the owner… smh. Looking at their most recent reviews, which seem paid for honestly, I’ll acknowledge that is is possible that after initially changing all the ingredients to cheaper versions, they failed so badly that they have gone back to standard Pizza factory corp. Ingredients in the last 2 months, the pepperoni pizza picture review from 2 months ago does look similar to how it used to… however I won’t take that risk, I get a bad feeling from these people. They think we are stupid, that’s not good. Peace...
Read moreI've always seen the name and brand for Pizza Factory but never had the product until today. The location I'm writing about opened about 4 months ago. I've been meaning to set foot in the door but always got distracted or just wound up going elsewhere. The inspiration for today's visit was two-fold:
I was blown away at how spacious it is inside of the room. I never tried the previous restaurant that was here before Pizza Factory so I had no idea how many people could fit inside. The place reminded me of when I was a kid and where we would go after soccer matches. In this day and age of people using food delivery services, may I suggest stepping away from that mind set and setting foot in here. They have a great selection of appetizers, and all you can eat salad bar, a lunch buffet (from 11am-2pm) for $7.99 that features all you can eat salad, breadsticks, and pizza. They also have delicious sandwiches plus, pasta dishes like lasagna, baked spaghetti, ravioli, and more. Their pizza menu is extensive AND they have calzones. I almost forgot to mention their 'beers by the ounce' that are available on taps that YOU can pour from for yourself. They have both local beer and domestics you know well.
If you're on a budget and have a number of mouths to feed, I strongly advise you to take a moment and check out what they have to offer. The price is right, the food is incredible, and their staff greets you with a smile while working hard to get your food out to you in a timely manner.
It's safe to say that I'll be back soon whether it's with friends or if I'm flyin' solo.
Thanks for taking the time...
