Drove by and saw a local coffee shop and still open at 2pm so I drove up, but the experience was super strange. Maybe they were closing? I wanted to read the menu and didn't pull all the way up to the window but the barista was ready for me, and I ended up so far away I had to get out for payment rather than rolling the window down. I didn't see sizes or flavors on the menu and was stopping in for a pick-me-up. I went with a matcha and the tea wasn't fully whisked in, the clumps that did come up my straw were the highlight of the drink because the rest was just milk. I think my lucky charms cereal milk comes out a stronger green than the matcha I ordered. When the barista asked me a question (stamp card) I was cut off before I could answer, maybe just wanted customers out of there? I also don't respect establishments that finish the product but withhold it until you tip - if I had a chance to taste and ask for a redo then maybe a tip would be worthwhile. The barista also wouldn't take my card to process the payment? Instead held it out for me to figure out. Strange! If I had known I could've brought cash and avoided that awkward mess. First time and not inclined to return, plenty of local shops that balance...
Read moreI lived in Portland for a long time and so I'm a hipster-coffee snob scumbag. I say that as a way of signalling my credentials. I drink black coffee so thick it goes down like snot and savor every slurp - I can tell you where there's good coffee. The house coffee there, Black Gold I think they call it, should not be given a gold medal, it's got a really gross aftertaste. BUT the organic selections that are there every day are fantastic. They use Longbottom coffee, which makes some really good stuff. It seems like they tend more towards dark brews, which most people mistakenly think are better (everyone's a tough guy or something), but they have GOOD dark brews. That's almost an oxymoron. Their froofy drinks are fantastic as well, and they have really good smoothies. One more negative about the place, the bagels aren't available toasted and they give you Philidelphia Cream Cheese which sometimes leaves me feeling like I've made a terrible mistake after I eat it, but I keep making that mistake. The people that work there are cool, and they have a great stamp card program....
Read morehey yall,
there is an internet predator who uses the purple bean as a public meeting point for women, before drugging and raping them. please see the post for Don Kent on our page (reno rapist report on fb) and keep an eye on your floor for this dangerous criminal!
This is an internet predator in Reno. He uses sights like Craigslist to lure in people looking for "just friends" with 420 (marijuana) friendly based ads. He will attempt to lure you into being alone, such as on a hike or nature walk. It is reported that he is known for adding drugs such as meth to marijuana, making the female so spun that he can easily rape them. He targets married women, as they are less likely to report the rape, in fear of their husbands and families discovering her secret internet activity.
