Mexican is one of my favorite foods so I treat myself to eating at La Fuente's, Hermano's, or Taco Time once (or twice) each month. I was skeptical and a bit reluctant to try something new because I like to stay with what I know is good but I had heard it was good food and cheap so I decided to give it a try. I called in and ordered the (chicken) Monster burrito with 1 pint rice & beans while my son ordered the chicken burrito w/rice & beans from Hermanos restaurant. Both places told us to pick the meals up in 15 minutes so we did. We were a bit surprised picking up my meal from Aliberto''s because when it was given to my son through the window, his hand dropped because the bag had a great deal of weight. I had to use both hands to lift the burrito out of the bag. WoW! It had to weigh at least a 2lb burrito. No doubt. In taste test comparison, I tasted no real difference. Hermano's and Aliberto's chicken burrito was made of authentic grocery bought chicken that cooked and shredded, the only difference was Aliberto's portion was larger. The refried beans seemed like they came from the same restaurant, however the rice was different. Hermano''s rice had a dry taste and it had a more red coloring to it. Aliberto's rice had moisture in it, a bit fluffy but not as much coloring. Overall I liked Aliberto''s rice over Hermanos. My son paid $23 for his meal where as I paid $13 for mine. My son ate his full meal where my meal fed me for two days! If you want good mexican food without having to pay the restaurant price- this is definitely the place to go!! I will not be surprised if this place puts Taco Bell out of business because the prices are competitive but their portion size and taste is so much better. Goodbye Taco Bell - it'll be good to see you gone. Thank you Aliberto's for bringing us restaurant flavor to fast food pricing. My family will definitely...
Read moreI have ordered from this place multiple times and never had an issue except the past three times. One time mistakes happen, two times must’ve been a busy day, but This is ridiculous. I specifically ask for no guacamole due to an allergy and I make it very clear when ordering that. I get home. Check my food it has guacamole. I have to drive 30 minutes back to the restaurant to simply get a new order, when I get there, I am treated as it it is my fault and I’m complaining about something that is unreasonable. They offered no sense of empathy. They did not try to reconcile and any other way. They redid my order and put a pile of shredded cheese on top of my fries. Not melted in which it always is. I told the young lady in the drive-through that she shuts the window on me and is staring at me through the window as if again I’ve done something wrong so I sit there. At this time I have nothing but time because you’ve already ruined my dinner and my evening. Another young lady comes to the window and says, I said, excuse me, she said, what very sternly, I explain the situation she said it’s always like that, instead of arguing, and holding up the line any longer I decided to leave unhappy once again. . I do not recommend this place anymore because the customer service is horrible. I understand it’s a Mexican restaurant but if I’m speaking to you in English the expectation is that you respond and the same manner that I’ve spoken to you but instead her and another colleague just spoke in Spanish, looking at each other, talking to each other, then looking at me as if I understood. Cost of living and food is very expensive. Now I would rather take my money somewhere else where I will be one respected to her as a customer and three my food, the way that it was asked to be prepared and not. Be...
Read moreTaco shop greatness. Chile Roja (red sce) ✅️ Refried beans ✅️ Taco enchilada combo ✔️ +
The Taco enchilada combo is my go to for a Taco shop or different of same chain until I know the food is exactly how I like it or know it to be from the same meal I had prior at same shop.
The combo was perfect to the eye and senses. Really excited to dive in.
I always try beans (refried) first. Usually you can rate a joint just on how the beans are done. If the beans suck you can bet the rest does. Flavor and consistency were great. On the thicker side but no complaints. The Beef Taco was greeeeat! Plenty of beef. The flavor and fixing magnificent.
I was surprised and let down with the enchilada sce. Enchilada itself was good. Hard to mess up cheese enchilada tho. But the enchilada sce was a def no go.
Idk if it's the default only and there is another red sce (most places have different choices of E- sauces) but this sce was way too delicate AND SWEET. I was really surprised by it. I've actually never tasted an e-sce like it.
The only place sweet belongs in Mexican is Horchata or churros NOT IN THE MAIN COURSES OR SAUCES.
I HATE SWEET SMOKEY RED CHILE SCE and come to find out also enchilada sce.
I like burning habenero type citrusy Taco sce for taco shop or Pico de gallo restraunt salsas for family style restaurants.
Anyways.. In short. Beware- the default enchilada sce is sweet 😆
But over all good Taco...
