As a former Southerner..THANK YOU GOD FOR THIS BBQ truck! Lawd Jesus I was not expecting BBQ this dang good here in Western Washington. Living in Mobile, AL, this place is right in line with Saucy Q's, Moe's, Brick Pit, and J. Rodgers. They definitely put their foot in it as you can taste the love they have for QUALITY BBQ. I got the $20 2-meat special (pulled pork and brisket) with potato salad, and cornbread and also ordered additonal sides of okra and peach cobbler. This will make 2..or even 3 meals for one person if you eat smaller portions. So the food taste review...
The brisket was a good as you get. Great smoke flavor and as tender as you could ask..BUT the best part is there was a minimal amount of fat and the slices were varied from thick to thin. The pulled pork was mostly all meat and also minimal amount of fat.. AND more good news was that it didn't have those burnt end pieces that always ruins pulled pork when you taste that inedible piece of pork. Clyde's has done justice to pulled pork.
The baked beans are pretty much Bush's Baked beans which is A-ok with me THe cornbread had a Jiffy corn muffin mix texture but was a lot more geared in taste towards older recipes of cornbread cooked in cast iron pans.
The fried okra used a lemon fish fry batter similar to Zatarains or Louisiana brand fish fry...something I happen to love.
The potato salad was mustard based but not that overbearing on celery, so it works.
And the peach cobbler was among the best I have...
Read moreLet me tell you something. Hunny, hm... this BBQ is so good. For the first time today 05/22/2019, I went to this place because I always wondered if it was good or not. I wonder no more. The BBQ is scrumptious. I ordered the mixed meats in which I chose brisket and chicken just to get an idea if the bbq was good is the meat good... It came with potato salad , corn bread and bbq baked beans. The beans are scrumptious and reminds me of my sister's. Even my son liked them and he is such a picky eater. I had to force myself to stop eating them because I wanted everyone in my home to try the beans. Bottom line, I completely satisfied with the brisket and the chicken and the beans. I didn't eat the potato salad so I can't review that. The prices are average for a BBQ spot. The sauce is has a little kick to it. My son tried the cornbread and he said, he wished it was sweeter but he is a teenager. I tried it and agreed but we are used to Jiffy. I believe the cornbread is made from scratch. Anything from scratch is appreciated. I will be going again I can guarantee!!! Thank you to these people who are working hard bbqing in this...
Read moreI was conned last night. Thought I was buying 3 pounds of beef brisket. I am a chef. I know how to cook beef brisket. I’ve cooked it many times myself. I spent $129 plus a tip because you could smell it I thought I was getting the real thing. But when we got home, we noticed it was poor Mans chuck roast not beef brisket oh, I was pissed. This was nothing like Tennessee armadillos in Duval or what used to be in Woodinville, Washington or even better yet the bear pit in Mission Hills California office Sepulveda Boulevard. I would if I could write them zero stars I would I am so freaking angry. it was my friends birthday. He loved it but he didn’t know what he was getting. I would rather have taken him to the feast buffet written. I would’ve saved myself $ $80 and he would’ve had a fire star Vegas style buffet bar, which is the best in the state right now the FEAST BUFFET in Renton WOULD’VE BEEN SO...
