Diamond in the rough. I didn’t know what to expect when I 1st went. But it was so good I went back the next day. The place can go from empty and quiet and next minute it’s full of people. Always lots of to go orders and delivery orders. It’s was only 1 guy up front. Very nice guy! Place your order and grab your drink and about 7-8 mins later your food is coming out hot and fresh.
They have a pretty good selection of drinks to choose from.
What I got
Garlic Chicken plate Meat Jun plate Loco Moco plate Beef Bulgogi plate
They all come with white rice, mac salad, soy potatoes, and japchae. The chicken plate has pickled radish instead of the soy potatoes but everything else still comes with it. White rice is white rice nothing special. Mac salad is bland but it’s Mac salad. The soy potatoes and the japchae are the winners for the sides. I did get an order of kimchi and kimchi cucumbers which were devoured and I didn’t get a photo of them. Sowwie!
The garlic chicken is double fried Korean chicken but it has a sweet soy garlic sauce over it and it’s GOOD really good!
The Meat Jun is pan fried egg battered bulgogi which I have never had before. It was good different but still good.
I don’t even remember the Loco Moco plate I’m going to be honest with you guys! I ate some but once I tasted the bulgogi plate it was a wrap on everything else. So the Loco Moco plate got slipped to the side.
The bulgogi plate yeah that’s the winner the garlic chicken plate would come in #2 spot
Listen the bulgogi is everything! I don’t even have to describe it to you just go okay just get in your car and go!
I may jump in my car and...
Read moreA flare of a little Hawaii in Renton.
Recent addition to Renton. It’s an old teriyaki joint, now Hawaiian eatery. Don’t expect to see the usual Hawaiian decor, except for the menu board.
The interior is not so inviting and lacks decor. The owner is not so friendly or inviting.
Meat Jhun plate: two scoops of rice (not full scoops), a scoop of Mac salad, ‘small’ side of chap chae, and shredded radish. And I do mean small portion. I think if they added an additional side that would be an added substance, like sweet potato, bean sprout or cucumber kimchee. Meat Jhun, tender generous sized beef marinated and battered with egg. The meat pieces were semi battered, with some lacking batter. However, the meat was well flavored, so it made up for it.
Chicken Katsu plate: again the same lacking rice scoops and Mac salad and sides. Oh, the Mac salad; on point. It was well flavored and just the right amount of mayonnaise. It reminded me of Hawaiian plates lunches from Hawaii. Chicken Katsu, generous portions of chicken. Battered and cooked just right. Not too dried, yet slightly juicy. You know the chicken wasn’t sitting for hours or old and it was somewhat fried fresh. The batter and chicken were seasoned just right, with the accompanying Katsu sauce.
I will definitely be back to review the other items on the menu.
I would have given it four stars if they added an additional side to the plate. The two accompanying sides were complimentary and great additions, but I would have liked to have seen an additional item and maybe a generous...
Read moreAfter a long travel day and long wait time at SeaTac for our car rental, we were absolutely famished and so this was our first stop. I’m so happy we chose this place. The woman who helped us out was so nice and our food was brought out pretty quickly!! I had the bulgogi platter and OMG, that was seriously one of the best foods I ever had. The beef, the mac salad, the noodles 🫢it’s a pretty big plate with hefty portions so I feel it’s worth the price—I was able to have some leftovers later and it was still so yummy. I also got cucumber kimchi on the side which was delicious. My friends got the galbi and the chicken teriyaki platters which were also great, but I’m still biased towards my bulgogi which was superior. We also shared the wings (can you tell we were hungry?) which were so juicy and tender, I was licking my fingers. The woman who helped us out was so nice, and I hope she could tell how much we enjoyed the food. As if our experience wasn’t already five stars, we also received dumplings on the house. They were delicious. My next trip to Seattle is next year and I’m already planning for this to be my first stop again. Wish you guys...
