Today I walked by this newly opened Starbucks location and was surprised to see a small window open. I was thinking maybe I can grab coffee without having to leave my small teacup dog outside because I was also traveling with the stroller with my infant baby.
I stepped at the window and the employee by the name of Jay met me there and said that it is mobile order only.
I said oh ok, and said I can’t go in with a dog right ? He said no, so then I kindly asked if it was possible to make an exception seeing that the store was empty , and that way I didn’t have to leave the small dog out with my belongings and remove my infant from the stroller.
Jay responded in a very rude manner by saying no that he wasn’t getting paid for that…. But if I paid him extra that he basically would. I said, excuse me? You work here, what do you mean you are not getting paid ? He basically asked me to pay him extra for the simple courtesy request.
I said no problem I’ll walk in, left my dog outside attached to the stroller because he is super small and couldn’t detach him from the stroller and leave him lik that and walked in carrying my infant.
I walked in thinking I was going to be met by someone with more education and went ahead and placed the order. This person was Josue who actually refused to take my order because according to him I was rude to Jay, when it was the other way around. I don’t even know why I bothered to go in.
I couldn’t believe the lack of customer service, and clearly was not going to fight over a cup of coffee .
I live right on the beach and just really disappointed that I was met in such a rude manner. I am not sure if upper management is aware the staff is asking for extra money on the side just to extend courtesy to a mother that simply wanted to order a coffee without having to go through all the risks of leaving a small dog outside unattended.
Hope you take this into consideration and investigate what’s really taking place in your store. The staff here didn’t seem to be interested in working and were just attentive to...
Read moreBad service and unfriendly staff. Was at this Starbucks today for the first time and it was not a pleasant experience. I was part of a large (about 20 people) bicycle group that arrived here shortly before 8am and we had been cycling for over two hours before that and were cold. I tried one of the doors and it was locked and so went around to try a second entry door and it was not locked and went in to place an order. A lady, who appeared to be the manager then told me to "get out - we are closed" She came around to the customer area to follow me out and lock the door behind me. As I get walked out she asked me "why can't you read?" as she pointed to a sign low on the door that showed an opening time of 8am. Yes, I can read but I had not seen the sign. Comments like we don't open for a couple more minutes may have been better received, ie: if you are in a customer service business but are unfriendly to people, the job may not be a good fit for you! When I did place an order I requested a hot sandwich but was told that the ovens were not ready yet. The front display case that looked like it was for pastries was totally empty. My guess is that the staff had arrived a few minutes before us and were now (at 8am) starting to get ready for the day. I wish that I had taken some photo's but thought about after I had left. I would not recommend...
Read moreI went in and asked to BUY a cup of hot water, they said to wait, while both of the Ladies working talk to each other on the headset. to which the girl proceeded to say, “no, we cannot give you free water because you are not buying anything” I reinstated that I wanted to buy the cup of hot water, they went again mumbling on the headset in Spanish, So i said “Its okay, no worries” (in Spanish) it’s frustrating this ladies acted like this is just a cup of hot water, plus I wanted to pay for it. I don’t understand what the policies are but they could’ve been nice and not dismissive or talk about the customer in secrecy, In Spanish to which I happen to speak , And obviously I don't have nothing against that. but they are talking about the customer thinking the customer couldn’t understand. overall the experience is bitter then my espresso!! Very...
