One word Review:- A Cuisine Journey with Hits and Misses
Taste - 3/5. Quantity - 4/5. Quality - 4/5. Value for Money: - 3/5. Service - 5/5. Hygiene - 5/5. Cleanliness - 5/5. Ambiance- 5/5. Overall- 3/5.
— My friends and I, eager for a delightful South Indian feast, ventured into Bawarchi, Richardson, on a first-time visit. While the overall experience wasn't a complete home run, it had its moments of brilliance.
— I ordered Idly, Egg Dosa, Chicken Boneless Biryani, Goat Biryani. Egg dosa was praised for its taste and size, and the fresh sambar accompanying it was appreciated. Chicken boneless biryani also received positive marks for its flavor.
— Idli Interlude: Unfortunately, the idli fell flat. Lacking the fluffy texture and subtle taste we expected, it left us wanting more. The sambar accompanying it, while fresh, didn't quite hit the right note either.
— Chutney Conundrum: The chutneys, which are supposed to be a symphony of flavors, were somewhat muted, failing to provide the expected zing and complement the dishes.
— Goat Biryani Blues: This dish, sadly, was a major letdown. Bland and lacking the expected depth of flavor, it failed to meet our expectations and left a disappointing aftertaste.
— The prices were reasonable, but considering the inconsistency in taste, it didn't quite feel like exceptional value for money.
— The restaurant itself was a visual treat. Clean, hygienic, and boasting a pleasant atmosphere, it provided a comfortable haven for our culinary adventure.
— Overall: Bawarchi had its moments, particularly with the good service, ambiance, and some dishes like the egg dosa. However, the inconsistency in taste, particularly with the idli, chutney, and goat biryani, held it back from achieving a truly harmonious dining experience. While I wouldn't necessarily recommend it based on this visit alone, with some improvements in taste consistency, it could potentially be a contender for a more positive review in the...
Read more1 star for extremely pathetic service....
I have been to this place a few times before - food is average and service has always been mediocre (their pain point).
The reason for this review and rating is our lunch experience last Sunday.
Our bad experience started as soon as we were seated. It took some time for the waiter to present us with menu which was hard to understand as he was not waiting on anyone during the wait period.
After we were presented with the menu, again there was considerable amount of delay for someone to come and take our order.
I went with the unlimited meal option which basically means that if you like something or need something you can ask for a second/subsequent serving(s).
As they served only one poori (Indian bread), I asked for a second serving of the same with one of the server. And he acknowledged it.
I waited and waited and waited. No body came up with the serving. We had to eventually pack up and leave - with half filled stomach.
After we were seated no one came to ask anything of us or check how we were doing and how the experience was. If you have an option of unlimited meals and someone has ordered it, I think it is basic courtesy to check on that person if he/she needs something.
The restaurant was not crowded. It was just that the staff was inefficient. Some of them were not even interested in doing their job. They just roamed around aimlessly.
The other stupid thing was everyone was doubling or tripling with their job duties as in waiters were also servers and cashiers!!! There was no clear distribution of duties. And for some reason there were always at least 2 persons present at the cash counter even when they present checks at the table and didn’t seem to have any tasks at the counter!!
Overall a very disappointing experience. I have let the service thing slid in the past, but this time it was just too much. I’ll take my business...
Read moreWhen this restaurant was newly opened in Richardson, I used to order Bawarchi spl boneless chicken biryani very often. But after two months, taste was not the same. I always had to complaint them bout the taste. Yesterday I wanted to try different biryani in hope that maybe they will be making other biryanis better. So I ordered chicken tikka masala biryani. And was I DISAPPOINTED OMG! There was NO SALT in biryani and in raita too. what they did was, they just added some chicken gravy with biryani rice. And thats all. It had NO SALT. It wasn't even chicken tikka masala gravy I believe. It wasn't the way it should be.
Also, on New Year's Eve, we came here with our friends for dinner. We ordered Gobi 555. And what we got was. Gobi pakoda with lots n lots of tomato sauce. It tasted HORRIBLE. We told this to our server and returned the item. He didn't bring the fresh one. Food was also not very good that particular day. And then at the end, they added that Gobi 555 in our bill which we didn't even eat. Our friends never returned to this place. And we were so embarrassed bcoz we called them from garland and told them that this is the best place for Indian food. But we were all so...
