We were very impressed with the quality and flavor of all the food we ordered from the Dahl and the samosas, to the mango lassi ( no sweetener added, and thick in yogurt), to the paneer tikka masala and the specially made black lentil extra, extra, extra hot sauce they made for me, and then I asked for more hot flavor and I received a small but beautiful hot oil with seeds and it was red brown and hot and tasted absolutely phenomenally dishes, delicious and we had chapatti bread, and it was superb, like each of the dishes we were served! As authentic as you’re going to get, as my friend Deepak just told me today is where he and his wife go, and we are lucky enough to find it! The interior is exceptionally clean and the seating is very good and the service is wonderful and they try so very hard to please you, to help you enjoy your dinner, and the music was fun and is authentic as well! What a wonderful find if you really do love true flavored food from India! You will absolutely love it if you want, authentic, courtesy, and trust that your meal will be wonderful! Let me add some photos!

I gave this two stars for many reasons but not relating to any employee interactions; they were welcoming. I got the biryani lunch special ($10-$11) with goat meat and there was one and a half pieces of meat in the biryani. The bigger meat was less the size of a dollar quarter and the smaller one was super small. I got the side of goat curry and that’s what meat I used. Other than that I got a dessert that was $3.50 and I was super disappointed in the size of the portion (in the cup(with the white liquid)) ALTHOUGH the actual flavors and textures were delicious! The lady I spoke to on the phone said he was supposed to have pistachio pieces on top but it had to very small pieces. All in all the flavors of the biryani were okay there was some heat. But I’ve had traditional biryani with the big spices and herbs inside of it and how flavorful and how many flavor profiles and this places lacked as far my experience goes. That why I rated it the way I did.

What a weird experience, after a long day on the road (8hours) I was really looking forward to the Indo Chinese food Bawarchi offered. Alas! Such disappointment! The manchurian and schezwan curries were super spicy and after trudging through it the appetiser we order , veg momos, came finally (ironically the appetiser arrived last) they were super cold and when I told them about it they just warmed it in the microwave and brought them back out… being a restaurant owner myself I know that this is a no no! When we complained they said the momos were made fresh and not from the fridge (wasn’t true). After a lot of back and forth I had the momos taken off the bill which they did reluctantly and with quite a bit of attitude. Sadly there was no apology or ownership of bad service. Will not be back. I hope they realise the error in dealing with customers and try to resolve it internally.

One word Review:- A Cuisine Journey with Hits and Misses

Taste - 3/5. Quantity - 4/5. Quality - 4/5. Value for Money: - 3/5. Service - 5/5. Hygiene - 5/5. Cleanliness - 5/5. Ambiance- 5/5. Overall- 3/5.

— My friends and I, eager for a delightful South Indian feast, ventured into Bawarchi, Richardson, on a first-time visit. While the overall experience wasn't a complete home run, it had its moments of brilliance.

— I ordered Idly, Egg Dosa, Chicken Boneless Biryani, Goat Biryani. Egg dosa was praised for its taste and size, and the fresh sambar accompanying it was appreciated. Chicken boneless biryani also received positive marks for its flavor.

— Idli Interlude: Unfortunately, the idli fell flat. Lacking the fluffy texture and subtle taste we expected, it left us wanting more. The sambar accompanying it, while fresh, didn't quite hit the right note either.

— Chutney Conundrum: The chutneys, which are supposed to be a symphony of flavors, were somewhat muted, failing to provide the expected zing and complement the dishes.

— Goat Biryani Blues: This dish, sadly, was a major letdown. Bland and lacking the expected depth of flavor, it failed to meet our expectations and left a disappointing aftertaste.

— The prices were reasonable, but considering the inconsistency in taste, it didn't quite feel like exceptional value for money.

— The restaurant itself was a visual treat. Clean, hygienic, and boasting a pleasant atmosphere, it provided a comfortable haven for our culinary adventure.

— Overall: Bawarchi had its moments, particularly with the good service, ambiance, and some dishes like the egg dosa. However, the inconsistency in taste, particularly with the idli, chutney, and goat biryani, held it back from achieving a truly harmonious dining experience. While I wouldn't necessarily recommend it based on this visit alone, with some improvements in taste consistency, it could potentially be a contender for a more positive review in the...

1 star for extremely pathetic service....

I have been to this place a few times before - food is average and service has always been mediocre (their pain point).

The reason for this review and rating is our lunch experience last Sunday.

Our bad experience started as soon as we were seated. It took some time for the waiter to present us with menu which was hard to understand as he was not waiting on anyone during the wait period.

After we were presented with the menu, again there was considerable amount of delay for someone to come and take our order.

I went with the unlimited meal option which basically means that if you like something or need something you can ask for a second/subsequent serving(s).

As they served only one poori (Indian bread), I asked for a second serving of the same with one of the server. And he acknowledged it.

I waited and waited and waited. No body came up with the serving. We had to eventually pack up and leave - with half filled stomach.

After we were seated no one came to ask anything of us or check how we were doing and how the experience was. If you have an option of unlimited meals and someone has ordered it, I think it is basic courtesy to check on that person if he/she needs something.

The restaurant was not crowded. It was just that the staff was inefficient. Some of them were not even interested in doing their job. They just roamed around aimlessly.

The other stupid thing was everyone was doubling or tripling with their job duties as in waiters were also servers and cashiers!!! There was no clear distribution of duties. And for some reason there were always at least 2 persons present at the cash counter even when they present checks at the table and didn’t seem to have any tasks at the counter!!

Overall a very disappointing experience. I have let the service thing slid in the past, but this time it was just too much. I’ll take my business...

When this restaurant was newly opened in Richardson, I used to order Bawarchi spl boneless chicken biryani very often. But after two months, taste was not the same. I always had to complaint them bout the taste. Yesterday I wanted to try different biryani in hope that maybe they will be making other biryanis better. So I ordered chicken tikka masala biryani. And was I DISAPPOINTED OMG! There was NO SALT in biryani and in raita too. what they did was, they just added some chicken gravy with biryani rice. And thats all. It had NO SALT. It wasn't even chicken tikka masala gravy I believe. It wasn't the way it should be.

Also, on New Year's Eve, we came here with our friends for dinner. We ordered Gobi 555. And what we got was. Gobi pakoda with lots n lots of tomato sauce. It tasted HORRIBLE. We told this to our server and returned the item. He didn't bring the fresh one. Food was also not very good that particular day. And then at the end, they added that Gobi 555 in our bill which we didn't even eat. Our friends never returned to this place. And we were so embarrassed bcoz we called them from garland and told them that this is the best place for Indian food. But we were all so...
