My Fiancé (now Wife) just started with West Coast. She was able to transfer all of her prerequisites from Dallas college. as an investment, it’s been good so far, we will see how well it pays off. The only thing I did not like was the last minute, 1800$ added cost for nursing kit. We understand this increase was said to be from the vendor, but why was this not communicated to us via email until about 5 days to the start of classes? That is too late for any student let alone an F1 student to make any decisions, and resulted is us being slapped with 275$ monthly increments in tuition (1800$ total), and the original tuition on its own isn’t cheap. This should have been communicated ahead with the rest of the tuition & other costs. WCU fix this late communication
*Update: Keeping this at 4 stars because of the last minute information on added costs for nursing kit. I’ll update my review once we get a feel of the network at west coast, looks promising. So promising, I had to delete my previous comments, not all of the reviews on here were accurate. WCU actually transfers community college credits, and guides you to scholarship resources on their portal which you can apply for, and sits with you to go over the financials as regards tuition well ahead of your start date or transfer if you’re...
Read moreUpdated review: They are accepting more students than they can handle. We now have to take tests on laptops in the classroom because the computer labs are always in use. The laptops have very bad internet connection since everyone is testing at once. This causes a lot of testing anxiety for people. You are asked to do specific community service hours during nursing core classes but West Coast University is not a well known school and people will not accept you at their facilities. Repetitive clinical sites where we are not wanted because anyone gets accepted to this school and unprofessional people are representing us. Good luck getting good clinical experience. Good luck finding parking. Parking is shared with the rest of the building and students are not a priority.
2018 review: Small, private school. It is pricey, but they have so many amenities. Small class sizes means you get the attention you need. You won’t struggle finding a parking space like they do at...
Read more'm currently a student at West Coast University, and I wanted to leave a quick review based on my experience so far. The professors here are phenomenal! They’re incredibly knowledgeable about nursing, and I truly enjoy learning from each of them—whether it's in didactic lectures, skills lab, or simulation.
The program is very well-organized and offers a ton of resources to help you succeed, from tutoring and study sessions to simulation labs and career support. You're never left without help if you need it.
Yes, the tuition is high, but you’re learning from some of the best in the field. They go above and beyond to prepare you for the NCLEX and for real world nursing.
That said, I wouldn’t recommend starting this program unless you're ready to fully commit and sacrifice a lot of your time. It’s intense, fast-paced, and definitely challenging—but absolutely worth it if you're serious about...
