I have been to Cuzco several times, but this is by far the worst experience I have ever had here. The food before was really great, and usually the service is great as well, but this place has often been going down recently. We came here and sat, ordered our drinks which took about 10-15 minutes to get them and that’s not even the worst part. The service was awful, there were only 2 servers and there was definitely a lack of communication. One of the servers was working hard, but the other server just giving drinks, giving bills and not helping her teammate when he really needed it. I was very disappointed because he took our order and put in the kitchen, about 20-25 mins later the food was out, but since he was helping out some other customers he couldn’t get the food, the other server was just in her own world not helping him at all. The kitchen kept ringing there bell to signal our waiter that the food was ready. Our food was there for about 5-10 mins and it got cold. We didn’t want to say anything because they would have tooken more time to make the food again or reheat it. Now the other waiter was just walking around not really doing anything and when the kitchen kept ringing the bell she said, I will get it in a minute, when the food has been out for over 5 mins. The food doesn’t have that taste as it did before. What really pissed me off after was when the bill came, there was 5 of us and on our bill it said there were 7 guests, they charged us 20% gratuity and when i requested them to change it, i got the same bill back, I was already done with the situation at hand, I usually always tip but this time i didn’t even want to tip at all because of this experience. You expect a restaurant to be prepared for this kind of stuff especially for the price of the food, which is kind of pricey now. 4/10 wouldn’t...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE! I can understand why people come because the food is good, but the service is HORRIBLE! When you walk in, you literally have to find a table yourself. The waiters see you but they ignore you. Since it was our first time, we obviously didn’t know and we were standing for a long time. Other people after us also were standing for a long time and they left. The waiters don’t come to you until you call them whether it’s for menus, plates, silverware, etc. we waited about 25 minutes to get our order taken. Because we were so hungry, we didn’t leave. There was even a family next to us that came in later than us and went through the same thing we did but their food never came out, after 40 minutes!!!!!!! I wish I were exaggerating but it’s the truth. And to make matters worse, when we got our check, they had already included a 20% gratuity to our check!!!! I was so upset by then. I went to the cash register and asked for this to be changed. The lady was very angry and snatched the recipes out of my hand like if I were a kid and I told her that she doesn’t need to be like that with me because I didn’t disrespect or insult anyone. In the end we left no tip. Please please save your time, money, and peace of mind. Go to Lima Taverna, which is only 9 minutes...
Read moreWent on a company Christmas lunch. First time ever having Peruvian food. It did not disappoint!!! The table started out with an appetizer of Choros a la Chalaca which is mussels served cold with what I would reference as a type of pico de gallo atop. Fresh and DELICIOUS!
Then the main course 😋 I ordered the pescado à lo Macho (I believe that’s the one) the sauce was divine!!!! The mussels cooked perfectly- while the shrimp were soft meaty (not overcooked at all!!)- the calamari was delicious- the fillet that comes with it was thick and flaky. The plate of food was served promptly and hot!
The table then ordered a dessert called picarones these remind me of a donut but my goodness!!! These are addicting! Despite me being stuffed and already couldn’t finish my plate I didn’t want to offend and not try. I broke one in half and loved them so much I had to look up a recipe to try and make at home 😅🤦🏼♀️ I don’t live around any Peruvian restaurant’s or I would definitely just get an order of these as a...
