Family-owned Restaurant that's been at the same location since 1998. The falafels are bigger than the balls you can just buy in the store, but they're also tastier. The chicken is all natural, cage free / free range & organic and organic fed. It's also really tasty! A tiny bit spicy, but totally manageable. The Philly Cheese Steak was good, but not great. The cheese was not plentiful,l and not melted. That being said, it was custom made to my specifications with lite onions and no bell peppers, and it was still tasty, but not delicious. Overall, I would say I've found a good neighborhood cafe that I can visit again when I want Mediterranean foods.

As an Atheist, I still very much appreciate Halal foods and everything here is Halal, as confirmed by the owners. Personally, Halal foods just taste better.

There were a few people along with the owners sitting in the back smoking hooka. As a smoker myself, I don't mind at all, but some might find that off-putting. There's also a TV that didn't have anything playing until right before we left, amd then it was just commercials; likely live TV.

All said & done, I'll be back. It was a very tasty meal and a happy experience with very friendly owners/staff and...

Tucked away in an unassuming strip shopping center, Grand Cafe proves that appearances can be deceiving. This independently owned small business, run by a kind and passionate couple, focuses on delivering fresh, high-quality meals that leave a lasting impression.

I ordered the vegetarian sampler, which featured falafel, creamy hummus, and fresh, flavorful tabbouli. Each bite was a delight, showcasing the care and quality of the ingredients. I also tried the falafel gyro, which was fantastic—especially with the addition of their spicy sauce, which brought just the right amount of heat. My boyfriend chose the chicken and rice dish, accompanied by a comforting soup, soft pita, and hummus. He couldn’t stop raving about how delicious and satisfying his meal was.

While the exterior and interior are simple and unremarkable, the food is where this cafe truly shines. Every dish is crafted with love and care, and you can taste the difference in every bite. If you’re looking for incredible food and don’t mind a humble setting, Grand Cafe is a must-visit.

We will definitely be back—quality this good is worth...

We were looking for a halal Mediterranean restaurant with good reviews and chose here for two reasons. Grand Cafe had so much good reviews and prices were reasonable. The first impression was okay for me. The owner is very welcoming and thoughtful. They have some personnel only corner in the restaurant, like they are doing their own things at the side of the place. I don't know I think they could put some curtains or folding screen to make it more private. Anyways we got the menu ordered our foods. It was kinda fast ,we didn't wait that long which was great as we were really hungry but unfortunately they brought my hot food in a plastic plates with plastic utensils. That was very disappointing for me as it's very unhealthy. My hot soup had a plastic spoon in it. I don't use anything plastic with hot beverages or dishes. I wish at least they would use paper plates if they don't want to wash dishes. Other than that the food was good, prices were reasonable if you compare to other restaurants. I went to this Grand Cafe today after more than 10 years and not only their interior, but the food has gotten way wat better. Its used to be a very small place and now its pretty big. They have large variety of Shawarma, Gyros, Subs, and Burgers. They have a great combo deal going on every day from 11 am to 2 pm in which you get Shawarma, Gyro, or in my case I got Philli Cheese Steak with fries and a can of soda for $6. I dont think anyone can beat this price and taste. Its a typical moms and pops store, where wifes a cashier and husband cooks and the food tastes great and they make it right infront of you with everything fresh. I saw many students there today may be coming from UTD. I will defeinitely recomend this place and will go back again for sure.

Hidden gem right here in richardson. Great family owned restaurant with authentic flavors, great for all ages as well. I had this veg style soup for an appetizer, with lentils and veggies and more. It was very delicious with just the right amount of seasoning and served at the perfect temperature, The chicken was cooked perfectly, nice and juicy. The onions were grilled just right, nice and sweet. The hummus was amazing, seasoned just right. The prices are very reasonable, you have to try it out and see for yourself. I will definitely be coming back to get more. The owner is a great and friendly man.
