What a great gym! This is the first gym where I’ve actually enjoyed working out and kept consistent with my workout schedule! This gym is built around class-based workouts, focused on HIT and strengthening exercises. Membership is required, and members sign up for reserved spots in classes. Memberships are of 2 types: a regular Fit Body “Boot Camp” and Over-55 “Fitbody Family Forever” classes, and are led by 2 trainers. The gym has a wide and interesting variety of equipment, which helps to maintain my interest in the workouts. Each session is designed with exercise stations with options to increase or decrease intensity as needed. Exercise routines are set to timed periods of “on” and “rest”, which I also find motivating. Trainers teach the exercises, offer corrections as needed, and motivate throughout the session. They are well-trained on correcting form to protect from injury and maximize positive impact from the exercises. Fit Body Boot Camp (the actual gym name) in Richardson offers 2 types of classes - all ages HIT / weights (“Boot Camp”) and “Fitbody Forever” (55 and up, focused on weight / strengthening to promote muscle and bone strengthening plus some cardiovascular exercises mixed in). I attend the 55 and up classes and have never felt better in years! I am stronger, and my cardio health has significantly improved! The classes are fun (imagine that) despite being challenging, the atmosphere among group members and trainers is encouraging and supportive. Trainers are very positive and help class members feel motivated regardless of level of training. You do not need experience to attend this gym. The coaches first learned my name, encouraged me and welcomed me with a smile. I love that they have an open door policy that comes with a plan filled with a ton of knowledge and experience! When I have felt like giving up, they have refused to give up on me.
I love all the fun challenges, the swag attire, great workout music, the coaching to make sure we’re doing the exercises correctly, the fun atmosphere and all the friendships I’ve made along the way. It makes me want to keep coming back for more. You know what doesn’t want to come back - the 20 lbs I have lost!

It’s a group class geared toward the 55 and over crowd and is a blend of strength and cardio training. Feeling energized? You can make your workout more challenging by increasing your weights or pace - there are at least two trainers on the floor to help as work your way through the routines. Or if you want to take things a little slower, the trainers help with an alternate routine - you can go at your own pace! The exercises change everyday so with the variety, the classes never get dull.
