I really wanted to like this place. The staff was very friendly, but everything else was a disappointment. The music was almost comical - it was 1960s-era bossa nova elevator music. I felt very sorry for the staff who had to listen to it all night. And for some reason the music was playing really loudly in the restrooms. The menu had a couple of tacky "notes" within it, like "free refills for soda only" in all caps. The food was underwhelming - I ordered the chicken with artichokes, mushrooms, and white wine cream sauce, and my husband ordered the rigatoni with meat sauce and a side of meatballs to share. My dish was stodgy; the sauce was thick and gloopy and the flavor was just bland, overall. No coloring on the chicken, it looked like it had been boiled. The pasta was definitely not fresh. The side of meatballs tasted very much like Chef Boyardee. It hurts to say that, but that was my immediate impression. The menu said all pasta dishes come with soup or salad and bread, but we never received any bread. And our waitress left before we did. As soon as we paid our bill, she was out the door while we were still enjoying our wine. As someone who has waited tables before, I was floored.
