Review for Jersey Mike’s, Richland Location
My experience at Jersey Mike’s in Richland was nothing short of terrible. I went in as a military member expecting the courtesy of their advertised military discount, which I have received at countless other Jersey Mike’s locations. When I showed my military ID, I was met with rudeness and disrespect from the supposed manager. He dismissed my request and told me this location doesn’t honor the corporate policy on military discounts unless I’m in uniform a rule I’ve never encountered anywhere else.
The atmosphere was incredibly unwelcoming, and I felt treated with complete disregard simply for asking about the discount. This store seems to operate with no respect for corporate standards or even basic customer service. The rude and dismissive attitude of the manager made it clear that they’re doing whatever they want, regardless of how it reflects on Jersey Mike’s brand.
I would strongly advise anyone, especially military members, to avoid this location. If you’re looking for a business that truly respects its customers, go elsewhere. This place does not value or appreciate its patrons, and the atmosphere reflects that.
Update response back to owner
Thank you for your response, but your attempt to discredit my feedback by referencing my review history is misplaced. My honest reviews reflect genuine experiences, and this one is no exception. I am not alone in my concerns—there are other reviews highlighting similar issues at this location, particularly around the lack of respect shown to veterans and military personnel regarding the discount. I visited another Jersey Mike’s nearby, and even they acknowledged the poor reputation your location has for customer service.
I’ve already contacted corporate regarding this matter, and I hope any military members, veterans, or law enforcement officers take note of how dismissively I was treated. Your manager was not only rude but refused even to look at my military ID, which is both disrespectful and unacceptable. This review isn’t about a single one-star rating; it’s about a consistent problem at your location that needs attention. I can assure you I won’t be returning, and I encourage others in uniform to reconsider supporting a business that fails to show respect for those who serve. Here’s a concise reworded response that emphasizes the recurring issue:
It’s interesting that a year ago, another veteran had the exact same experience with rude customer service and issues around military ID acceptance. Yet the owner claims this doesn’t happen. Seems like there’s a pattern here that the owner is either ignoring or just doesn’t...
Read moreThe 1 star review is not for the food at Jersey Mike's - it is basically the same at all the restaurants and you know what you are going to get - it is for the complete and utter lack of preparedness in their opening. You would think there were lessons learned from their last opening in Kennewick but alas this is not a learning company, at least our local ones.
1st strike: I the only one there with more than a dozen employees and had to aggressively request someone to take my order because they only knew how to do online orders.
2nd strike: They only have 6 ingredients outside of the meat and cheese and the guy making my sandwich seemed to forget ever having made any sandwich, ever. 4 inch pile of lettuce, no one supporting him during his obvious first sandwich, and topped it off with 1/2 cup oil & vinegar dripping out of the bag. The sandwich was inedible.
3rd strike: I go to pay and it will not allow anything except 20%+ tip. You cannot pay, decline, anything unless you select a tip higher than 20%. I think the kiosk had never been used by an employee prior to my sandwiches.
Give this place a few months to train people, support the people while they are learning, and for god sake PUT VISUAL STANDARDS up so they know what they are suppose to do when making a sandwich - especially...
Read moreEverything about this place is amazing! Let’s start off with the employees are visibly nice and greet you when you come in. Uniforms are very professional and look the part. This gentleman I think his name is Chuy helped my husband and I with outstanding customer service. He’s very kind and since this was our first time there he helped us tremendously with the menu, and seeing which sandwich we take a liking to. The management was open to any suggestions on what is liked in a meaty sub he helped us fast and efficiently. We got our food in fair timing. I ordered a chicken bacon ranch adding ham and turkey it is visibly a full sandwich and tasting 10/10. My husband ordered a Philly sub with chicken instead of steak it was very delightful. Chuy even checked on us to see if the subs are to our liking did I say excellent customer service? Yes I did! Needless to say this is now our favorite Sub sandwich place. Thank you guys, good job...
