Five Guys — Restaurant in Richmond Heights

Generally, I love Five Guys. I don't know what was going on, but going to this store was the worst service I've had at any restaurant (short of active aggression towards me). General rundown of what happened:

We ordered food on the Five Guys website for pickup at 7:30. I was out shopping and showed up late at 7:45, expecting the food to be cold but it was my own fault. Instead, my order wasn't ready and there were 6 groups of people in front of me waiting for food. I asked and they said they were working on my order. For the next 58 minutes, I sat around waiting for my food to be made. Why so long? I have no idea. At first, I thought they just ran out of something and expected them to toss on some new burgers and be done in a couple minutes. But no, it was a solid hour. I literally could have driven home and made my own burgers in less time. What's more, once I finally got our food, my burger was completely wrong except for the cheese and the meat - and the bread was completely soggy (prolly be a use they had constructed my burger and toppings an hour and 30 minutes before hand. The order was likely so wrong because the printout of the receipt (which they were using to construct the burgers) was all messed up - like their printer was out of ink. My gf's burger was all correct except not a lettuce wrap (to their credit, they let me know there wasn't any lettuce for wraps or otherwise when I arrived).

I don't know what was going on, though I tried to figure it out while I was there. One worker said it was his first day on the job, but he seemed to be more motivated than anyone else. Another person was apparently on break for the first 30 min I was waiting, after that they came out of the back and started working - but all they did was make fries, and there were hundreds of fries that were already ready. No idea.

Maybe I'll try this store again in 6 months or something, see if things have changed. In the meantime, not gonna be eating at Five Guys anytime soon.

Update: I got food poisoning as well,...

I just love First Guys in the Maplewood Commons near Mernards. Very Very clean. Upon just entering the restaurant you are greeted very well All the employees were very courteous. The places was delightful. Employees there take the time to suggest a item that you may like. I love that there restaurant is wide and very open. You're able to see/look while your order is being cooked and is very fresh. Fast service if you are on the go. I have never had a problem with my order in no time. The Employees seem to always work as a team and this makes your order of food to be ready in no time. Very courteous and friendly service. The burgers may be.more expensive than other restaurants which are also fast food I do recommend others to visit and eat there on there patio or take to go. They never seem to forget a face. Tips are accepted and I do pass my cash to them on regardless. Oh and there shakes are very very good. If you do decide to go there it will be an experience that you will never ever forget. I have eaten my burger as for now and later cause there burgers are big and juicy I always save some for later. Like a burger that your mother would cook which is made to order with whatever you may want on your burger. I at least go there once a week either for my lunch or one to take home with sides that you may like and watch a movie. Great Job Guys ( employees ) and keep up...

When we pulled up to the store the lights were dim as if they were closing and we got there 2 hours before closing and there were no customers... we stood at the register for 3 to 5 minutes before being acknowledged it took an additional 10 minutes for the order from start to finish meanwhile the other employee manning the cash register was trying to get the young lady in the lobby to come back and assist with the phone and order preparation as she refused bc she had a personal call then multiple customers started coming in the young lady stayed on the phone for several minutes and never came back out to assist once we received our food it was not our normal quality experience of food the meat was dry overcooked one of the meat patties was on one of the burgers was half missing returned it and had to remake the burger after spending 85$ on an order for 3 people I expect nothing but perfection, as well we had to go back up halfway through our meal I had to go up and ask again for our shakes at the end of our meal we still had not received our shakes slightly prior to having to ask again meantime the young lady still didn't show up from her personal call from the back of the store all in all an absolutely unsatisfactory unacceptable unprofessional waste of my time and money and I will not be visiting this store again all in all total interaction took right at...
