On two separate occasions, I've been absolutely astounded by the lack of professionalism and outright disregard for customer service at the St. Louis, MO, Hanley Rd Penn Station.
Here are both of my experiences: [8/11/21] Arrived with no greeting or acknowledgement. Waited two minutes before anyone came to the register although multiple workers saw me enter. Greeted the person who eventually came to the register and received no response other than "what is your order". After placing order, which included a lemonade, no one was at the payment register. I got a lemonade cup and put tea in it for an Arnold Palmer. After returning to the register, I asked for lemonade to add to my tea. The person responded "that ain't got nothing to do with me" and walked off. I've never experienced such extreme lack of customer service. I left the restaurant and cancelled my transaction. Not to mention, Jerry Springer was playing the entire time with a female dancer on a pole.
[6/25/21]. This incident was so unprofessional, I transcribed it and sent it to my friend while it happened.
Lady standing right next to register: "somebody come take orders" Man waiting to order: you don't take orders? Lady: no I don't. I have to close the store tonight (it's 2:30pm). I'm not doing all that
After this, a man finally came out to take orders. During the middle of taking the order, he abruptly left while yelling "I can't take this anymore" and walked out of the store. Myself and the other folks in line were completely shocked. The original lady who did not want to take orders was annoyed but did not seem to be shocked. She came back to the register and finished taking orders. I believe the man who walked out abruptly is the same man who refused to get the lemonade in the most recent incident.
Overall, I enjoy Penn station. I tried it for the first time a few months ago in Indiana and thought the food was delicious. However, I will never return to the Hanley location after these of my only two visits have been absolutely...
Read more4/15/17 is the last day I ever step foot in a penn station.
This is by far the most expensive 'fast food' place I have ever been to. Penn station is not a restaurant. There are no waiters or waitresses to bring you your food and drinks. It's layout is that of a fast food place and therefore it should be judged as such.
There are 2 reasons why penn station deserves 1 star. The cost. I got the supposed 'special' which they have every month, and it came out to $14... So, a 10 inch sub, a medium fry and a medium drink comes out to $14?? I could have a steak dinner for that!
Also, they 'upsized' my fry from a small to a medium and it added $1.30 to the total. I didn't ask for this and its a ridiculous increase in cost to go from a small to a medium.
Wait times. It's a fast food restaurant that is not fast. I would actually compare the wait times here to that of an actual restaurant, which is sad.
What you will get: You will get fast food at a ridiculously high price, and you will wait a decent bit of time for it.
I could go on.. The sandwich was tasty but it was as thin as a needle. I laughed when I opened it up..
Literally anywhere else that serves food is better than penn station. It is the worst value in food...
Read moreEven BEFORE 6 other customers walked in after my dad and I placed our order, the woman at the 1st register With the locs had an attitude with my dad as he was ordering our food. How and why do you already have an attitude with a customer when they dont have an attitude with you and they just walked in seconds ago??? I went back up to the counter to order a lemonade for him and I was told to go to the second register at the end by the guy making the sandwiches and I over heard him say “ we dont need to be bothered with that “ to the lady with the locs who had an attitude also prepping food. Okay, Made sense but the attitude wasn’t necessary or the “we don’t need to be bothered with that” comment even if it wasn’t said to me directly, I still heard it and was given an attitude by everyone i talked to except the person at the very end of the counter at register 2. My dad went back up to the counter to order fries that was supposed to be added to the order when we originally placed it and the woman at the 1st register with the locs just pointed to the other end of the counter instead of...
