We visited D’Corner for the first time about a week ago. We’ve been craving authentic Puerto Rican food since we’ve moved and it’s been hard to find in Georgia. On our first visit, we stood at the entrance for over two minutes before being acknowledged and seated. Service was slow, but the food, while bland, was edible, so we decided to give them another chance. Today, we tried something different, but unfortunately, it was worse. Our stuffed potatoes and empanada had cold meat inside. When we told our server, she just hesitated, apologized, and walked away no offer to replace it right away. About 15 minutes later, we had to ask if they were making a new empanada for our daughter. She said yes, but we had to wait again. We ended up eating the stuffed potatoes because we were starving. When our appetizer order was placed, we were ready to order our meals, but the server was chatting with other staff for another 10–15 minutes before coming back. Both appetizers were served on the same plate, and we had to ask for separate plates, which took more time. The entrees were also disappointing my daughter’s pernil had no flavor, my beef stew was bland, and the mofongo was just okay. Overall, the servers are shy and nice but lack confidence, attentiveness, and problem-solving skills. Customers should feel welcomed, and issues should be handled promptly. Staff should also acknowledge guests as soon as they walk in, rather than continuing other tasks like sweeping. After giving D’Corner two chances, I won’t be returning and unfortunately can’t recommend it. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I do want to clarify a few points. On our visit, the wait to be seated was closer to five minutes, and the restaurant was not busy at the time. The young servers were indeed very sweet, but as mentioned, they could benefit from a bit more training which is completely normal for newer staff. We did eat the stuffed potatoes because we assumed a replacement would take a while, and we did not take any leftovers home. Spending over $100 for three people, and STILL TIPPED we naturally wanted to enjoy the food, even if some dishes didn’t quite meet our expectations.I truly believe feedback should be an opportunity for growth, so I’ll leave it at that. My hope is that you take the comments in stride, maintain a professional tone in responses, and continue to grow your business because I do want to see...
Read moreI've been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. I saw some pictures on their Facebook page and tried calling, but for weeks I never got an answer. A coworker happened to ride by and saw an open sign. I found an updated phone number and called it. I thought it odd that it was a Virginia area code. In any case, no one picked up and there was not a business voicemail. My coworker and I decided to try it anyway. My coworker made the order on her way to the post office. The cashier/server stated that they don't answer the phone during the lunch rush (I believe she said 11 am - 1 pm) 🤯 Anyway, we ordered the Cubano sandwich and fries and was told it would be 15 minutes. 15 minutes later our order was still not ready. My coworker did, however, see part of the order in the pickup area. When the complete order was ready, she informed the server that the fries weren't hot. The cashier/ server told her that she'd have to charge her for another order of fresh fries 😳 Another thing is the prices on the online menu are incorrect. It did state that one should call for the correct price. How can you, if they don't answer their phones during a certain time?!?! Customer service should be #1 when your business is providing a service. What was observed is the cashier/ server taking care of, it appeared, to be their regular patrons and forgetting about others. Also, how can you possibly think you're going to gain more patrons if you can't seem to handle answering the phone. This was a pure disaster of events and to top it all off the food looks nothing like their online pics. The sandwich was just okay and the fries were horrible. Perhaps, a bit restructuring needs to take place here and they most definitely need to hire someone during the lunch rush to man the phones. Let me be clear when I say this, I'd rather take a flight all the way to Puerto Rico for lunch before...
Read moreWhen you walk in the set up is really nice and welcoming. The employees were also very nice. The smell is deceiving ( smells amazing but the food unfortunately didn’t taste the way it smells). My husband and I ordered Ensalada de Pulpo con Tostones. ( Octopus salad with fried Plantains ) when the food was served, my salad came out in a Martini cup and I noticed it had shrimp (which I did not ordered) but I didn’t say anything. My husband dish had an extremely small cup of Pulpo Salad, tossed salad and greasy Tostones. 1 out of 3 things could of caused that, the plantains we starting to turn sweet , the oil was not clean or they were the frozen bag sold in the grocery stores. Then to put the icing on the cake they added I am guessing a mojito sauce on top of the tostones which made them greasier. ( which that should be put on the side in case someone doesn’t want that) Pulpo salad was made with can pulpo😡😡😡if I am willing to spend the money on seafood ( which I know it’s expensive) give me so real pulpo not the 2.99 can from Walmart. I thought to myself at first I would give them a good review to support our national, but how am I suppose to help them better themselves if I am not honest. Please do not take this review as a criticism. Take it as a lesson to have your chef take pride in the food he or she is cooking and make...
