Frisch's Big Boy — Restaurant in Richmond

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Our server, Josh was very nice though. But, my mom and I chose Frisch's last night for dinner, right when we sat down the girl rudely asked "what for drinks"? I'm sorry but, you're supposed to give you're guest a few minutes and then come back and get their drink order. Next, we ordered our food. I ordered carved turkey with mashed potatoes and broccoli. My mom ordered grilled chicken dinner with macaroni and cheese. It took about an hour for us to get our food then when it was served to us, it looked like it was just splattered onto the plates. The turkey I ordered looked liked it came from Kroger deli. It was so cold. I began to see how all the other food was and asked mom as well. She said her food was cold. We stopped eating and just looked at every employee. I'm sorry but, if guests are just looking around and not eating wouldn't you sense that there might be a problem present and that you probably should check on them? Well after we got a server, he said I'll get those to go orders rang in... Not even paying any attention that we haven't been eating anything at all and have been looking at the employees. Right then, my mom respectfully told the server, Joshua that our food was cold and he gathered it up and took it to the kitchen. He brought us the bill and it didn't have any changes or anything to it. We was at the Frisch's big boy in Richmond Indiana for over two hours. They didn't have a wait. They had plenty of open seating and it wasn't like they were crazy busy. So, what was the problem here? Poor management? I mean that would be...

Frischs has been a place for a family to go and enjoy a reasonable well cooked meal my whole life. This was the worst dining experience I have had to date. Our waiter was disgruntled and upset with "work place drama" and let it affect his interaction with us. He had to seat tables, wait tables, get food, and bus tables. Our waiter had 4 or 5 tables while the other waitress had 1-2 and spent most of the time in the back. He was over worked and allowed his negative attitude to bring down the environment.

The food...... wow is all I can say. Luke warm, reheated, greasy, and looked like it came out of a can or box. It has gone way down hill. Part of it was probably the fact that it sat on the counter for 10-15 minutes while employees danced and trash talked other employees. Drinks were never re filled and service was next to non existing. I even tried to get a piece of pie hoping it would be better, I was wrong. The pecan pie looked like it was under a lamp or atleast a week old or more.

My family had made it a tradition to ear at the Frischs "diner" for 20 + years. Due to the negative atmosphere, poor food cooking, prep, and quality we will not be returning. I still tipped the waiter %15 because I understood his frustration, but the negative attitude killed...

HORRIBLE experience. Frisch's are usually pretty good. The one in Richmond Indiana is obviously the exception. Had a waitress, Hieda A, Yeah I know the spelling seems odd to me too. She had a booth where she knew the people and we were all but ignored. When I told her they did not bring the french fries I ordered she said "Oh OK" and went back to talking to her friends. She then took their order and after 8 minutes the fries show up. Asked for our drinks to be refilled. Same thing, back to talking with friends and then she disappeared for 4 minutes. I took my glass and asked the manager if I could please get a refill. After 3 more minutes Hiedi returned and I could tell she was not happy. The fries were soggy and lukewarm. The Big Boy was not very good at all. Enough sauce to drown a small cat went everywhere out of the bun and the patties were dry and hard. The onion rings were overcooked. Then we had a booth of people come in with a screaming kid that refused to shut up. So after a $25 dollar check we just decided to cut our losses and leave without finishing our meal. Very disappointed but we learned and will never return to this place again. If you like bad food and a waitress who treats customers awful then be my guest...
