Grilled Meats & Treats — Restaurant in Richmond

First time at this place on 06/20/21. Observed a good 20 minutes before ordering. Ordered 2 12 inch Philly steak and 2 chicken Phillys. The chicken Philly was actually good, I didn’t get it dressed. The cheese steaks were dressed , therefore, they were soggy by the time I drove 15 minutes home. Spent $57.00. Went to work in the medical office building that I work in and shared with the boss and coworkers that they should check the place out. My boss decided today 06/21/24 that she was going to buy all 6 of us lunch. I was going to repeat the Chicken Philly and fries, 2 of them we’re going to try out the Fish Platter with 2 sides, and the others we’re going to try the Quesadilla's. Got there and requested the same cook from yesterday and was told by the OWNER “ ABSOLUTELY NOT” he also stated that “!I don’t have a personal chef” . I thought that was very rude. I simply wanted the SAME cook from the previous day considering that would have been a huge TAB to be displeased. I can see if the cook that I requested wasn’t on the grill, but he was. Not to mention, Owner got offended because I didn’t want the young lady that I saw outside smoking with her Apron on to make our food. And I’m not even gonna get into the other things, too much to type, but He was actually sitting outside and told me that he had his Apron on and he did.so I guess that’s where the example comes from. I had a favorite cook at OUTBACK. Zach cooked my steaks perfectly and Management NEVER denied a request for a preferred cook. We simply went elsewhere and I would NEVER patronize that...

This place is a solid 7.5/10. It’s a cute little place. Mostly everything was delicious. The funnel cake sticks, 10/10 and the crack wings, 100/10! It’s like sweet and savory at the same time. Like a soulful chicken wing with a hit of strawberry… sounds weird, tastes delicious. The fried pickles were VERY BLAND. I’m very much a pickle girl and… i Wouldn’t get them again. Honey garlic wings… they were like a 6/10. I ordered a honey garlic egg roll but it was steak and cheese in there and i ordered a surf and turf egg roll but it tasted very much like buffalo chicken. Im not sure if they are pre rolled and cooked to order…. But they weren’t tasting how they were labeled. The catfish was just okay… it was a dollar up charge to get catfish… but the catfish was the only option they had yesterday. So i feel like the up charge shouldn’t have been applied to any orders that day being that there were no other options for fish. The Philly salmon steak was just okay. It needs some type of signature sauce. Something with some garlic or something so it wasn’t so dry would have set it off. Because the idea of it is bomb. The salmon flavor was even bomb… but it just tastes like it was missing something. My daughter got the regular Philly cheesesteak and she said it was soooo good and she wants to come back for another. There is no doubt that the spot is great. And the food is good. They take their time cooking their deliciousnessss.. OMG!! This is one of my favorite spots to eat in. I am a regular there and always get something new off the menu and each time it gets better. I swear if you been to RVA and aint try this food right here, you missing out! Next time you come thru RVA and you're looking for a spot to eat, GMT is the place to be!
