Just moved to town and this place is walking distance. I love WH so I thought this location would be perfect. The first visit was awkward, I was greeted but it took a while for someone to come over. It was 6am and maybe 2 other patrons. The waffle was amazing, but the grits tasted like grain. Very disappointing. I asked for over medium eggs and the cook almost scrambled them then stopped. And thats what i got. The waiter didnt ask him to remake them. I got my check shortly after being served. The vibes were very unwelcoming, but I didnt want to be quick to judge. This morning, everything in me said to go to a different location, but this one was so convenient. Again, around 6am, there were more customers than before , but by the time I sat down everyone had left. It was just me a waitress and the cook. No one greeted me and I sat for over 10 mins on a phone call, waiting to have my order taken. The cook inquired about me, inaudibly, and the waitress said she’s on the phone, you can go ahead and make your coffee’. Still, no one addressed me or even took my drink order. Instead he fixed his personal cup of coffee and proceeded to the back. After she made her way to the back as well, I decided my business wasnt wanted and left. Its very unfortunate scenarios like this still happen. I went to IHOP down the street and had amazing customer service. I recommend...
Read moreThe only reason that I'm giving them two stars is because the food was good. Otherwise it was the nastiest restaurant that I have ever been in. When we went in there wasn't a soul there except for the cook and one waitress. The table and the seats we're dirty and sticky. I had to ask for a wet rag so I could wipe it off because she basically just stood there with a blank look on her face. While we were eating I looked over at the door and it was filthy and the napkin holder was just simply horrible!!!! Then to top everything off there were flies everywhere !!! The waitress was nice but just had a "ho hum " attitude. She seemed like she was just there to be there. We saw her just sitting by herself several times. You would think especially with no one in there that maybe she and the cook could catch up on some of their cleaning. And yes I am now wondering the same thing that you probably are . Why the heck did we continue to eat there?? That's the question of the week. First of all, my eyes were glued to the Cook . I watched every move that he made and every little detail that he done . I looked at every utensil he picked up and watched how he prepared our food. All in all Chalk it up to the Heat, the humidity, we were tired and wanted to get home , or that we were just plain stupid!!!!!! LOL But I do know one thing. We will never eat...
Read moreAlthough the food was typical Waffle House fare, the reason this place stood out to me was because of the staff. Bobby Jo was our server and she was the absolute epitome of Southern hospitality. We were welcomed with a hearty and genuine "Good morning!" as soon as we walked in. Bobby Jo greeted us with a smile and a very friendly demeanor, and her disposition remained the same throughout the duration of our visit, as did the demeanor of the other staff members. She made the perfect amount of conversation and really engaged with the guests she was serving. She was attentive to our every need and we were so grateful, as we had just come from a doctors appointment where we had received some devastating news. We were made to feel so comfortable and, as someone who has visited many WH restaurants throughout the South, I have to say this is definitely one I will be returning to for nothing more than the genuine attentiveness and friendliness provided by Bobby Jo, along with the rest of the staff, as I could hear their interactions with other customers. Whatever training was provided to this entire crew needs to be extended to the rest of the WH restaurants. Bobby Jo demonstrated exemplary customer service and deserves so much to be not only individually recognized, but also as part of an amazing team! Great...
