T.J. Maxx — Local services in Richmond

I love TJ Maxx, but I try to avoid this one. The employees are the rudest I have come across in Richmond. They don’t say Hi, bye, thank you, etc. I have been there on multiple occasions and the employees will just walk right at you like they expect you to just move out of there way without saying so much as excuse me. They don’t smile. Store is always a mess. There is an older gentleman that is very unpleasant. He checked me out one day and I was using my debit card and I told him politely as I normally see the system tell me when to insert my card. He then yells at me to “put it in already.” Doesn’t say thank you or have a nice day. I was in last week to return two items I bought as gifts but had ripped the price tags off. Even though I had the receipt I was told to get back out of the long line and search for one item that didn’t have the tag so it could be retagged, but not the other and even with a receipt. This made no sense to me. Another time I went I purchased a shirt that had been tagged twice but I didn’t notice until a week later when I actually went to wash the shirt and after already taking one tag off that the cheaper tag was inside the shirt. So instead of paying 9.99 I paid $12.99. The girls won’t talk to the customer unless they’re trying to up sell you, but a friend will walk in and you’re automatically ignored so they can talk. They really need to work on this as I use to look forward to the friendliness of associates. But...

First off let me say that I love this place this is the best tjmaxx and the girls at the register r the nicest people and so helpful! The reason for the 1 star is the manager Jeremy…I have never seen a manager act so hateful towards his employees. I wanted to buy a product that was supposed to be in a two pack but there was only one so the girl at the counter was going to give me half off because I was fine with one product. The way he acted absolutely disgusted me. All she did was need help!! He yelled and was so angry he turned red and made a girl cry!!! Someone needs to fire him asap. I hope that girl gets an apology as well as the rest of the staff who had to see...

One of the best places to visit if your looking for anything Name Brand with a very affordable price, plus you won't find anywhere else that can "BEAT or MATCH" their prices!! I recently bought a Polo Jacket that if you would've went and bought it from the Original Store it would Cost have cost you $100 Dollars or more but luckily we were at TJ MAXX and only had to Pay $13 dollars and something for it.
