Empire Szechuan — Restaurant in Ridgefield

The woman who was working on the front was very nasty. I asked for small accomodations due to food allergies. She rolled her eyes at me. I ordered an egg roll also. While looking at menu, I noticed it said pork/shrimp. I asked her if there was shrimp in the egg roll and she said small bits. I told her I am allergic to fish and maybe get a spring roll instead. All of a sudden she said oh no shrimp in egg roll because I had already ordered it. Well when I got home I ate the egg roll. Have way through it I got an allergic reaction. So beware. We got dinner to-go at Empire Szechuan for the first time recently. The food was good but because of several issues we will not go back. They will not substitute white or brown rice for fried rice even at an extra charge. The prices were average for Ridgefield, which means that they were high, and so we were disappointed that the to-go containers were about half full compared to the other two Chinese food places that we eat from. There is definitely better value and better quality Chinese food...

Most of the food is okay, however egg drop soup was clearly bad: grayish color, malodorous, and inedible. I brought the full container of soup back, tried to get a refund for the soup, and the front desk woman was incredibly rude and hostile. She turned around to smell the soup before telling me how “fresh” it was from yesterday. She ultimately gave me the refund but not before insulting me. Will definitely not be going back...
