Gallo Ristorante — Restaurant in Ridgefield

We came here since it had 5 stars and was near the theatre. Overall it was okay, but disappointing. I was expecting 5 star food.

The calamari was good. The tomato and mozerella was meh. The tomatoes were hard and flavorless. Granted it’s still winter, and they should serve it seasonally since they can’t source good tomatoes.

Main meals, the four of us had Filet Mignon, White Pizza, Rigatoni, and stuffed chicken. The filet was overcooked a bit. It was okay but not worth the price. The sauce on it was delicious. The pizza was subpar. The onions were not caramelized well, the mushrooms tasted reconstituted, and there was way too much cheese. I did get chicken on it. It was so dry and bland, it didn’t even taste like chicken. The rigatoni was good. Our guest finished it. The chicken was okay. The broccoli was great. Desert was okay, but def not 4 or 5 Star.

Service seemed rushed. Waitress was nice, but not 5 Star professional. Food was handed across the table. And one of our guest pretty much had her food thrown at her. The bus boy was great.

The atmosphere was loud and not very relaxing. I was seated next to a room under construction with full view of a mess. They should cover that room with curtains.

We more than likely will never go back. We spent about $300 with tip. We had no alcohol and consider that pricey for 3...

Fantastic food with bad service. We had an early Saturday dinner reservation and most of the restaurant was empty. The patio was filling quickly as it was perfect weather. We had the calamari appetizer which was delicious. For entree's we had the pizza, pappardelle and the seafood special as shown in the photos. All the food was perfect. Where it all went wrong was the service. Our waitress never cared to really attend to us. She never asked if the food was as order but did for other tables. Never asked us if we wanted another round of cocktails when we did. We sat with a cleared table but she never came over to ask us if we wanted desert. She did for other tables. We finally got her attention to order desert but she never came back to take our order. By this time we were frustrated. We got our check and that was it. It's a shame since the food was so good but our first experience...

UPDATE: we returned this year for xmas-eve dinner and had a great time, everything was wonderful.

Lovely Christmas Eve dinner here for four (make sure that you are clear with the hosts about your reservation as we were mis-seated*).

We started with the calamari and crudo plate, scrumptious and perfect. Caesar salad and eggplant parmesan was next, and wonderful. For mains, we had the brazino and shrimp stuffed with crab, the tagliatelle (ok, shrimp a bit tough), the pollo (amazing), and lasagna (just a perfect example of the dish).

We finished with gelato and the ricotta cheese cake, cappuccino (superb) and macallan 18 year. Wonderful meal, great service, highly recommended.
