I’m not sure why everyone is so hyped over this place.. it’s extremely small, the food is subpar at best and the waitstaff is pushy
Went in with a girlfriend on her suggestion and was sat at a six top. I was very reluctant when to do so but was assured by the waitress that she would be able to sit other large parties at the other 6 top. So we sat down and I ordered my toddler the grilled chicken and veggies and myself the dutch baby sandwich. My daughters food came first and wow was it HOT! On top of the food being scalding, the chicken was so dry and tough my daughter could hardly eat it. My sandwich was okay, minus the extremely dry chicken and the 1 piece of avocado. So after a sitting and eating for a while it starts to get busy, quite a few large parties start to arrive and one is getting particularly inpatient waiting on I’m assuming the six top were at. The waitress is starting to get kinda pushy and asks us if she can get us anything else and we said actually we were thinking about dessert. She halfheartedly walks to the dessert counter and asks what we’d like so we share a cheesecake (which was actually pretty good) then she leaves the checks. We put out our payment pretty quick and the inpatient party keeps coming and asking how much longer and the waitress saying sorry I’m waiting on checks to come back. By this point our payment has been in plain view for about 10 minutes now and we’re wondering why she hasn’t come to collect. After another 5 minutes she comes and rudely tells me I have to have another form of payment because she already broke a hundred earlier and she can’t break mine. No big deal I take my hundred back and put my card out. Other 5 minutes or so pass and the impatient party comes back and is like we’ve been waiting 45 minutes what’s taking so long she again apologizes and says she’s still waiting on payment. She finally comes and collects payment and I’ve never been so happy to leave a restaurant!

Read moreMy decision to visit Lily and Liam Bistro was influenced by the positive reviews I had read on Google Maps. Having been drawn in by the promising feedback from other diners, I was eager to experience a delightful lunch for myself. However, my actual experience at the restaurant was a stark contrast to the expectations I had formed based on those reviews.
Despite the restaurant being bustling and me securing a table for two near the kitchen entrance, my initial excitement quickly turned into disappointment. An opportunity to move to a more comfortable table arose when a table for two opened up right in front of me. However, my request to move was met with a surprising and disappointing refusal from the server, who claimed that the table had to be given to others who were waiting. This response left me feeling overlooked and disregarded as a customer.
To make matters worse, my order of Huevos rancheros, which I had hoped would redeem the dining experience, only added to my disappointment. The half-cooked potatoes served alongside the dish were far from appetizing, and the overall quality and presentation of the Huevos rancheros were not in line with the favorable reviews I had read.
In light of my visit, it's disheartening to say that my experience at Lily and Liam Bistro did not live up to the expectations set by the positive Google Maps reviews. It serves as a reminder that even glowing online reviews cannot always guarantee a satisfying dining experience, and I hope this feedback encourages the restaurant to address these issues and uphold the standards they are praised for in their...
Read moreThe four of us enjoyed a lovely week-day lunch this week. The restaurant was full when we arrived, but tables clear quickly at lunchtime and we were seated in short order. I noticed that even though it was busy, we could converse without having to raise our voices.
My Rio Turkey Croque Monsieur was served with a generous side of Mornay sauce - easy to dip a sandwich corner into and enough to slather across the sandwich as I did. The Mornay could have used a more assertive cheese, but was satisfying nonetheless.
My companions also were quite happy with their choices. The vegetarian of the group had the huevos rancheros - green chile on the side. It was a massive plate of food with plenty of tortillas for sopping up the goodness of perfectly fried eggs over excellent potatoes, accompanied by nicely seasoned beans. Of the other two diners, one got the Maple Dijon Salmon sandwich which she knew she liked from a previous visit and my other friend said she enjoyed quite a lot. The fresh fruit accompanying the sandwiches was artfully arranged and tasty
For dessert, we split a nice carrot cake and an order of chocolate mousse in a crisp chocolate shell.
All the portions are generous and I'll be back, as there are still several menu items I'm...
