I came to this location before it was bought by the new owner. I loved it as a kid when it was owned by the previous couple, and I love it now as it is with the new owner. I usually order a slice or two of plain pizza, maybe garlic knots or garlic bread at times, and my brother orders a chicken cutlet sandwich with everything on it, and we occasionally get calamari or full pies here. No matter what, the food is always delicious! The wait time usually isn't bad, but sometimes, usually around dinner time on a weekend, they get a lot of orders, which is understandable. As for the pizza, they're pretty customizable. Something I notice is that you can get either thin or regular crust, and both are fantastic! I'm a little picky with calamari, but I like the ones they serve here. There's plenty of seating here for groups, one table for two, and two tables for five. There's outside seating, too, if the weather's nice. There is also a bathroom towards the back and past the empty pizza boxes. Overall, it's a nice place to be, though it may get hot over the summer. It's pretty affordable, and the workers are all friendly and welcoming, even on the phone! I really recommend this place.
PS: as for parking, there's some parallel parking outside on the street, though it is a main road, so do beware for your side mirrors! If there's space, there's a small parking lot to the left of the building. It can get filled, though, so I'd recommend parking on the nearby streets, like Washington Avenue or Lincoln Avenue. Lincoln Ave can be a little tricky if you're coming directly from Kinderkamack, but the two mentioned streets are at walkable distances from the...
Read moreIf i could leave 0 stars i would. Please read. I have been going to River Edge Pizza Kitchen for years for takeout because they have several gluten free options. Upon my last visit, I waited quite a while for my takeout order to be ready, no big deal, right? Except for the time I spent waiting there for my food to be ready to go the woman and her husband were screaming and cursing each other out while I was in there. The woman was screaming she wasn’t going to cook certain peoples orders and their phone was ringing with no one answering it. It was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable but I didn’t say anything and gladly paid and took my order once it was ready and left. When I got home I looked at the receipt and saw she added herself a 15% tip without even asking! I tried calling and even went back there within a half hour and they were closed by 7pm on a Saturday night. Today (on a Sunday) I returned to inquire about the 15% tip she added and she lied and said “oh my grandson did that, he just didn’t know what button to press” and I said that’s a blatant lie because you rang me up! She said well do you have any idea how busy last night was and I said still don’t lie about it just apologize and make it right. As I was leaving, she told me to go f* myself (I have the entire thing recorded.) This is how they treat customers and how they behave in front of customers. Absolute disgrace. Dishonest thieves with no class. Please be aware and check your receipts...
Read moreWas immediately discriminated on before placing my oder.... River Edge is a small predominantly white town I walked in there to grab a bite to eat after getting off the train. I meant to get off at the new bridge landing stop but got off in river edge the next stop down. Being that I was hungry I Googled the closet place to get something to eat. River Egde Pizza Kitchen came up and the picture looked appetizing so I had my mindset on getting pizza. As I walked in, there was one older gentleman sitting which I said hi to. I proceeded to the counter to make my order before I was able to make my order the lady walked away from me with an attitude and threw her hands up which I didn't understand why. The guy sitting got up and apologize and took my order. The lady assumed I was soliciting for money. All I was doing was being nice making small talk mentioning that I got off at the wrong stop and wanted to try their pizza. But before that happened she walked away not taking my order. The gentleman asked if I was from the City meaning NY like I was an out of towner. I never mentioned I live in Teaneck in Bergen County also. I was immediately discriminated upon, the gentleman mentioned there had been a few incidents of ppl asking for money. SMH I have a FULL TIME job making $17 an hour. How I was jugded was shameful and I bet these "few incidents" were also men...
