La Taqueria BX — Restaurant in River Falls

Earlier today I got some ground beef and I was going to cook at home, only to find out the beef I bought a few hours prior was already bad. Too lazy to take it back for a replacement, I tossed it and headed here.

Never had birria tacos before but I've heard the legends. Their quezabirria tacos are BEYOND legendary. Loaded with cheese, these double decker corn tacos melted my stress away after a long day. To think I was going to make my own tacos tonight. A blessing in disguise!

They've got a salsa bar with a bunch of different salsas I can't wait to try. With varying degrees of spice to please every definable palette. I've honestly not seen Mexican food this authentic this far north.

Had the tamales a bit ago and they were amazing, too! And they were HUUUGE. I haven't had tamales like that since I lived in Colorado.

Definitely give this place a shot! It's worth...

Really wanted to give a recommendation to try this restaurant. Was not sure what to expect but my neighbor recommended. Stopped by for the first time this week and was really happy with how good the food was. Amazing to be able to get fresh shrimp ceviche here in town (reminded me of being in MX). There is also a sauce bar with lime, sour cream, cheese, lettuce, and a variety of different sauces/salsas available to choose from. The meals we chose were so delicious though I was not prepared for how big the portions were- we left there so stuffed. My husband had the Alambre Al Pastor and I had the Walking Tacos. Our 1st stop the place was closed. No notice on the door and the internet said it was to be open. Not sure what happened.

2nd trip. New to the place. No instructions on how to order. You're basically standing at the counter trying to read and figure it all out.

There really isn't any wait staff. But, the food was very, very good. Proportions were large! The multiple salsa selections and additional condiments is a nice touch. It's a bonus for sure.

We had lunch, but I'd love to be there to try their frozen margaritas! I recommend you stop and try it. If you like authentic Mexican cuisine, you will...
