Lam's Garden — Restaurant in River View Township

I don't normally do this and I've been a long time fan of #LamsGarden in Crystal City/Festus. But yesterday my mom placed an order and picked it up. We didn't eat it immediately and discovered at like 8pm that something was missing. Today we found the receipt and saw we did purchase the missing item. I called and explained. The young girl on the phone checked with her boss and came back to ask "why we waited until today"..i explained that I worked today and we had to locate the reciept to be sure and just figured it out. She put me on hold and went back to boss. Came back and said there was nothing they could do because I waited. I told the girl that I wanted to speak to her boss because I understood she was just doing as told and didn't want to give her trouble. She put me on hold again. Came back and said "I'm sorry there is nothing we can do because you didn't call last night" and then she HUNG UP ON ME. I can't BELIEVE she hung up on me. So. Now I'm going to be petty over an order of Crab Rangoons and post on FB. I'd tag them but they aren't taggable which makes me wonder why on that one. We have been patrons of that place since I was a kid and it's really a shame to see a business that's been in the community this long treat people this way. I didn't want a free meal...I want an order of Crab Rangoons next time I placed a full order. Shameful.

So. Don't eat there or at least make sure you abide by their timeframe if there is an issue...

This is obviously a local institution - many of the customers when we visited obviously ate at Lam's Garden regularly and were known by the staff. The local police occupied a whole table at lunchtime.

The food was OK - the chicken in my General Tso's chicken was a little tough. However the service was most friendly and attentive.

The restaurant is a little hard to see from the street - it is located behind other businesses closer to the street and you have to look between buildings to see the restaurant. There is plenty of parking in front of the building - parking spaces on the side of the building are reserved for...

We waited more than 30 minutes to get ordered on and when I finally got the ladies attention, she gave me a disgusting look and made us wait another 10 minutes.. When the old lady finally came to take the order, she looked at me and said I dont like you!! She then looked at my brother in law and said I like you and took his order.. She took my wife's order and attempted to walk away ignoring me until my wife said, lady aren't you going to take his.. She did reluctantly and it was the worst meal I have ever...
