First off, I would like to say that the decor here is awesome. The movie posters, the music, all of that really sets a mellow mood. I love that you can watch your food be prepared, and of course seeing the high health score gives you additional piece of mind. The staff here is kind and very welcoming to newcomers like myself. I enjoyed almost all of the elements of my first experience here except the very most important part, the food. Firstly, I would like to say, I give them an A+++++ on portions. I had a beautifully portioned burger. Unfortunately, there were several problems with rest of the burger (and a growing line of people/orders which discouraged me to ask for it to be fixed because it would put me at the end of the line) 1. The burger was cooked below medium well as promised . I have had more than enough burgers to recognize medium well pink/brown ratios. My burger was roughly/barely medium. I didn't necessarily mind, but to think if I would have, I would have had to wait another 25 mins for a replacement. 2. The burger itself was terribly salty. I could not taste the burger anymore, just the seasoning. It was overwhelming to the point I could not eat the other half (even though I had paid $11 for the combo) 3. I was missing toppings and the toppings I did have were very light. My friend nor I had bacon on our burgers as requested and her's had egg added when it wasn't requested andddd I barely had any sauce or onion. 4. We both got Cajun fries that were once again, way too salty. 5. There is literally only one table to sit down and eat...... one table and two chairs! No where to eat inside - maybe that is on purpose? Not sure .To surmise, I commend the owners as I believe I overheard them mention that they were new restaurant owners. This establishment has great potential and is off to a overall good start. I would recommend that more attention be paid to the burgers (ensure all toppings are there, right temp on burgers, MUCH lighter hand on the seasonings) and I think they will be outstanding! I look forward to coming back in a couple of months to enjoy...
Read moreThe burger was through the roof. I would definitely support this business again, but I will never step foot in their Riverdale location again, and I mean that, I don’t care if it the last restaurant open. This was my wife and I 10 year anniversary, and for some reason she had the taste for a juicy burger. This was our first time eating at That Burger Spot period, but heard a lot of great things about the restaurant and wanted to try it. Well!!! Well made our order, I ordered the turkey burger and I got the exact burger my wife had ordered, but both of them slapped. Also, I order a small cranchy fry. We get there to pickup our order and the fries were turned upside down just thrown over the bag, and to be honest it was only five fries in the bag, and the young man behind the counter was rude to my wife and told her that they don’t give refunds (we weren’t asking for a refund) so when I walked in to inquire regarding our order (08/16/2025) the guy told me the same thing. The manager had just come in and this guy and the female that was there once confronted my the manager lied and said that my wife had turned the fries upside down and brought the bag back him. The guy tried to get an attitude and be rude towards me as well and the manager made them leave the building, the manager corrected my order and we left. Also, I forgot to state that the fries did not have any seasoning that we ordered and he just gave me a cup and said here. This establishment food is toooooo good to have two subpar workers there. I’m sure everyone comes for management because she was awesome. The dark skinned manager with Locs was professional and took care of business. Like I said I will order from the restaurant as a whole, but this Riverdale...
Read moreBeen wanting to try this spot out for a while. Decided to go there on a Friday night (Feb 4th) knowing they would be pretty busy with a long wait time. But I wasn't upset because the young lady at the grill was holding it down. I also appreciated the fact that she changed her gloves. Now on the other hand the young man who joined her in cooking did everything but, which is why I took 2 stars off from my review. I observed him touch everything, and I mean everything with either those same nasty pair of gloves or uncleaned hands. With either that one pair of unchanged gloves and bare hand, I observed him touch doors, handles, buttons and receipts. Even worse, I watched him wipe off his bare hand on his black jeans and then turn around with that same bare hand drop wings piece by piece in the basket and spread out fries in the basket with those same uncleaned hands and dirty gloves. I came very close to asking for a refund. You can't do that in a food establishment. You have to be clean and sanitary for the health and safety of your customers and you have to change your gloves often or at least wash your hands often when handling food. I would like to think that ownership/management taught and trained the young man better than that. As someone who has a compremised immune system I have to really ve careful when eating out. While the food was good, after what I observed last night I don't know I'll be back unless stricter food handling and sanitary practices are in place...
