The bartender I think her name is Blue has bad customer service. My wife and I came in on Wednesday. We sat at the tables/ played pool and was served by a different young lady. We came back out tonight, but did not receive the same service as we did on Wednesday which was our first time there. The bartender gave me my bill. I gave her more than the total of my bill because I needed change. I asked her about the gratuity that was added on the bill. She said that after $40 gratuity is automatically added and she couldn’t take it off. I stood at the register and waited for her to give me my change which she took dropped it in her bucket and tipped herself. It was after hours and prior to me paying my bill I asked her was it ok for us to play one more game of pool. She said that we could, and as I stood there, waiting on my change, she never gave It to me. When I asked Her for my change, she became angry and stated that it was her tip and how could I want it back. I let her know that I saw that your Gratuity was added on the bill and that I would have given her additional money for her tip But that doesn’t mean that she takes my change and tips herself. After asking for my change, she asked gave it to me, but then proceeded to put me my wife and our friends out. It was after hours they were close yes, but she had already agreed to us playing another game of pool until I asked her for my change back. She didn’t give us five extra minutes to finish our drinks or anything. She came out open the door and told us to get out Because I didn’t tip her, but I did Because gratuity was added to my check I was also gonna give her additional money once I receive my change back, but she took the change and got mad when I asked for it. Several people left because of her bad Customer Service. They need to get her out of there or she’s gonna run the café to the ground. In the end, she lied to my sister-in-law and told her that I was cheap and didn’t tip her which made my sister-in-law go on her pocket and tip her $10. You should never tell a customer someone is cheap and didn’t tip you, but to...
Read moreThe food here is amazing! If I could give this restaurant 4.5 stars, I definitely would. The only thing keeping it from receiving 5 stars is the salmon croquette being a little on the dry side.
I ordered the fish and grits meal, the Jaz’s special with bacon, a side of sausage patties, and a side of beef sausage links. Everything was flavorful and seasoned very well, with the exception of the eggs being unseasoned to provide customers an option to season them to their liking.
Let’s start with Jaz’s special. The eggs were fluffy and cooked fresh from shelled eggs, which is a huge plus since some restaurants use powered or liquid eggs. The hash browns were cooked nicely with onions and bell peppers; the bacon was thick cut with a nice crisp and a great chew; the pancakes were thick, golden brown, and hearty; and the salmon croquette was enjoyable, although it was slightly on the dry side.
The fish and grits platter was just as enjoyable! The fish was tilapia and the breading was crispy and golden brown on the outside with soft, tender, and flaky flesh on the inside. Now I got to tell you all about the grits…oh those grits! I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed that there was a sauce on top of the grits. The sauce had onions and bell peppers in it and had a nice kick. The texture was creamy and definitely not made with instant grits. This was my first time ever experiencing grits paired with a sauce and I look forward to looking up recipes to make it at home. The toast was already buttered nicely and had a light brown toasting on the outside and a soft, fluffy inside. The sausage patties and smoked sausages were nicely cooked and flavorful as well.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of my breakfast. The employees were very friendly and professional, plus the inside of the restaurant was very clean and modernized. I look forward to trying items on their lunch menu as well and I definitely plan on returning to Yummies Cafe for...
Read moreI went to yummies tonight because I saw a post on IG promoting the fight. When I arrived I was greeted by a friendly young lady at the door who seated my friends and I. She gave us menus, but let us know that our was server will be with us in a moment. Our server who was also the bartender came over to the table, but she wasn’t as friendly as the first young lady she acting like she didn’t want us to be there. The entire experience with her was terrible. She was not only rude, but she had a very nasty attitude. We ordered food and drinks but the experience was so terrible!!! The music was slow/sad. We asked her to change it to a lil upbeat music and she said NO! When the Main fight started we asked her to turn the tv up she said NO cause I don’t wanna hear that fight BUT we (the customers) are here for the fight/drink and food (which is amazing). Other customers asked her to turn the tv up or the music down she said NO!! She even argued across the room with another customer in front of us about us hearing the fight. We asked the friendly young lady for the manager hoping it was her but instead it was the rude lady. I visit in the mornings it’s great customer service. The other young lady had great customer service. Even thou the bartender was nasty the other young lady tried to make it better but unfortunately it didn’t work. The bartender was NASTY!!! She brings the business down and even lost customers during the fight simply because she wouldn’t turn the tv up!! Her customer service SUCKS! 6 young lady’s left because she had terrible customer service, they were waiting for food and was leaving before the food came out until the nice lady helped them. We all came to watch the fight but couldn’t enjoy ( which im sure was a waste of money for whoever purchased the fight). I will never come to this place again the other young lady was GREAT but the bartender/manager...
