Amy's Cafe — Restaurant in Riverside

Revised 04/17/2024 3 out of 5 this time. Everyone has an off day. Today seems it was their's. They updated the interior and looks great! The normal staff was not in. They gave us a dirty coffee cup and forgot to bring us water. The Eggs Benedict was not as good as before, the hollandaise was salty, the fruit was not ripe. My husband had blueberry pancakes and the blueberries were sour, and the eggs were undercooked. We will be back and hope this was just an off day.

12/06/22 10 out of 5 again! 😄 Excellent food & great service! I had the Eggs Benedict, Fruit & a side of grits (nope couldn't eat it all). I took one of the eggs & grits home) That how you know it was good. If I loved it enough to take it home. The service was impeccable, the eggs perfect, the ham flavorful and grits ready to doctor them to taste. My husband had the California Omelet, grits and dollar pancakes. He took half the omlet and half the pancakes home. Great Cook, Excellent Service & Delicious Food!! I still HIGHLY recommend them.

2018 10 out of 5 😃 I had the Eggs Benedict, fruit, coffee and water. My husband had the Country Skillet, grits, fruit, coffee and Orange juice. The food is incredible, the fruit is fresh (it's been awhile since I have had cantaloupe or Honeydew that actually had a taste) Yum! The coffee is perfect. My husband said his whole meal was great! We even had a really nice chat with the ladies across from us. We will definitely be back to try lunch next. I recommend this place highly!

Before we left we visited the restrooms. Both restrooms needed a lot of attention. When we notified our server she was very apologetic and said she would let them know right away. I do not think they were aware of the situation.

I came in with great expectations. Everyone I knew who had ate here had sung priases of the food and service. When I got there I was let down at every turn. I would like to first start with the food, which wasn't that bad, it just wasn't anything to take note of. Things didn't start to really go wrong until the waiter came who couldn't get my tables order right to save his life. He brought too much food to the table, including things we hadn't even ordered. Spent the whole time we were there taking advantage of the nearly empty restaurant to go sneak back and talk to his friends. Let our sodas run out for easily a good 10 minutes before one of us had to shout at him to get more. Then tried to charge us for the extra food that was sent to the table. Not only did he offer no apology for anything that happened, but on top of it the other staff gave my table attitude like it was our fault that they wasted food. Visiting my father in Riverside and this place had really good reviews so we decided to try it. Unfortunately I would not come back or recommend this place. We spent 140$ only to feel like we were a bother or weren’t accepted in their establishment. They have excessive price gauging. For example additional 2 eggs was $5.90 and then for them to be hard boiled (the same eggs) was an additional $1.90. Which is crazy. When the guy reviewed the order, he went over it extremely fast, and seemed very unpleasant. All of the staff had dismissive attitudes as if they didn’t want our business. Had I not called in prior I would’ve went somewhere else. I wish I could leave 0 starts because the overall experience was underwhelming. Be nice to all people that enter your establishment, and in a customer facing industry, find people that enjoy their job. Even the main lady acted as if my question to her was too much.
