George's Drive-In — Restaurant in Riverside

I would first like to mention that guy have been patronizing Georges restaurant for about 40 years and I remember in the old days the food was so good

Wow! what a disappointment it is now.

I was begrudgingly asked to place my order by an older woman who seem to hate life

I ordered a steak sandwich combination with onion rings and a Coke, $16.52

I was asked if I wanted everything on it I replied what does it come with? Hi was answered with a sigh then told what the ingredients were. I asked that pickles not be put on the sandwich as I am allergic to them and instead asked for onions to be added. Again with the sigh of impatience and agony, Then ask do I really want onions on it, which I replied yes please. The order was rang up and my credit card was given. I was never told what the price was and never offered a receipt. I waited almost 15 minutes for my food to be cooked and number to be called The older woman called out every number with extreme and patients as if every single customer should be standing at the window waiting for their order. I was waiting at the window because of this and steel my number was called twice even though I was standing at the window ha ha. When I received my food at the window I asked if I could have a receipt with my order, The lady aggressively ripped the receipt from the order check and gave it to me and then just walked away. Well I have to tell you the onion rings seem to be premade and frozen damaged hot but lifeless with no flavor and way too much breading not even any salt on them to enhance something of the flavor, they were so bad that after I took down four of them I had to just throw them away they didn’t even seem to be deep-fried they seem to be oven baked or something worst onion rings I’ve ever tasted in my life. Well the steak sandwich was not much better way too much bread to meat ratio and what was supposed to be a hot steak sandwich was called the steak was The thickness of a thin piece of leather and had the flavor and texture to match and that’s giving more credit than what was due because most of the meat was gristle and fat had to throw away more than half the sandwich.

Sadly I will never go there again and would have to say to anyone that wants a meal that resembles any kind of real food you had better go someplace else

The owner and her female companion don’t seem to have any interest in what they’re doing I think it’s time for them to sell the business and give it to someone else that would put a little love into what they do

I have been going to this place since 1990 when Mr. & Mrs. George were running the business. The foods and the services are great. But just recently I ordered 6 orders of food for all my employees and two of the orders is wrong and I couldn’t take it back right away and I call them and spoke with one of the employee and told him that the two order is wrong he said just come on back we will replace that and I asked him , Do you want me to bring the wrong order back ? he say you don’t need to we will be throwing it away anyway, but I have it with me anyway and so after I got off work at 8:30 I went there and I spoke with this heavy guy he was gonna take my order , I show him my receipt and I explained to him the order was wrong and he was not happy about to replace my order , he gave me one order instead of two order and he said it wasn’t his mistake. He wasn’t here but he is related to the family of this business and I told him I spoke with somebody on the phone they say they will replace the two order that was their mistake but he yelled at me, he said, you are lucky I gave you one!! I’m not going to give you something free and I say it wasn’t free!! ( It wasn’t free I paid for it ! ) one employee must be spoke with me on the phone heard the conversation he came over to the cash register and he pulled out the receipt to show this Coco guy that was yelling at me , and told this employee, I don’t care, He said I will not take care of that. He is not just Rude to me but to his employees also. Coco, told me if you want another order, you have to come back the next day!! I said why?? He said I didn’t make mistakes when you ordered your food so have to come back tomorrow!! He was all upset and yelling at me, what kind of customer service is this? I always try help our local small business, but since they don’t know how to do business, I will be no longer want to give my business there any more. I don’t deserve to get yelled at when they take my orders wrong, I deserve to get an apology, and the one should get mad should be me when you hungry and get ready to eat your lunch and your order is wrong order !! How do you feel if in the same situation as me ? So this Coco guy needs to have a better attitude and a better...

I came to this place due to the strong recommendations from locals.

To begin with, the customer service was extremely poor. When I asked the cashier (the older woman with the short brown hair) a simple question, she immediately snapped at me and rudely instructed me to read the menu. Despite having already done so three times, as she took her time to even acknowledge my presence. Consequently, I proceeded to place my order, pay, and wait for approximately 15 minutes for my food. During this time, I noticed that my food remained untouched on the side for a good 5 minutes of the 15-minute wait, while she casually wandered around the kitchen without a clear purpose. Finally, when she decided to call out my order, she didn't bother asking if I wanted any condiments. Instead, she carelessly stuffed my bag with an excessive amount of ketchup and tossed my food at me without even expressing a simple thank you. I understand that it might a challenging job in a not so great enviroment, but it's certainly not an excuse for treating customers in such a disrespectful manner if they are expected to return. You should find yourself a more fufilling job if you hate being there so much.

Moving on to the atmosphere, I took my food to the dine-in area only to discover that there wasn't a single clean place to sit. The entire place was disgustingly filthy, with trash scattered and dried up liquids across every table. The floor appeared as if it hadn't been swept in weeks, the trash can was overflowing, the air felt heavy and humid, and an unpleasant odor lingered in the surroundings.

As for the food, the burger I received was bland, and the bread had become soggy. The fries were not only cold and tasteless but also excessively hard, making them almost inedible. The only positive aspect of this meal was the drink. Definitely will not be returning, nor will I recommend this...
