I can’t say enough good things about this hidden gem. From the moment we walked in, the warm welcome and incredible vibe made it feel like more than just a restaurant—it felt like home. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every bite was bursting with flavor, yet nothing was overly seasoned. You could taste the authenticity and care in every dish.

We got lucky and happened to visit on a day they made sancocho, and let me tell you—wow. It instantly transported me back to the Dominican Republic. It was exactly how my grandmother used to make it: hearty, perfectly balanced, and deeply comforting. That kind of flavor can’t be faked—it’s real, soulful cooking.

It’s rare to find a place that nails the flavors and makes you feel like family, but this spot does both effortlessly. Already planning my next visit. If you’re craving a true taste of the DR, this is where...

We discovered this place by accident. I ordered food from there and it was ready in a reasonable amount of time. My food came before my kids food that they ordered from the other restaurant in the little food hall. I had the seasoned fried chicken with fried plantains (she changed it for me instead of the green "duro" plantains to the sweet plantains since I told her I love sweet plantains. It was delicious! My kids and husband ended up stealing most of my chicken because it was yummy. The service was great as I said before she suggested the plantain change for me. Also they check how everything was while we were eating. And at the end, he gave me a sample of their "dulce de coco". I don't even like coconut that much but I enjoyed this sweet treat. And my husband stole half of it. Overral great experience. Will stop by next time I go to Roanoke...

I was blown away by the flavors in this food! Every dish I’ve purchased has tasted amazing and so fresh. I could go on and on about how delicious each individual dish is.

Their fried foods are so crispy, the meats were tender, and everything was spiced perfectly, and SO flavorful
and unique!

They are so attentive to every detail. All of their food is packaged carefully, and even the branded stickers that give it such a nice touch.

Rosie makes ordering easy and she is friendly and kind from the first message on.

Right now, you can only get pick-up only, but Im praying for a physical restaurant in the near future!

(you really can’t go wrong with anything on their menu), and go send them a Facebook message with your order!

This is a local business we are absolutely thrilled to support and we can’t wait to...

As a Dominican living in Texas (Dallas area) for the last 5-6 years and when I say it’s been near by IMPOSSIBLE to find a Dominican restaurant
like seriously impossible. A family friend from NY told me about this location, I had to take a mini roadtrip to come try it myself. Needless to say, it was best by far! Truly the jugo de chinola (passion fruit juice) takes me back to the homeland of Dominican Republic along with the ‘Mangu Con Los 3 Golpes’. James and Rosy made the experience 100x better with their attentiveness and just amazing customer service. With every meal, you can truly taste the love that they pour into it. Thank you so much for bringing back to Dominican Republic for a moment. WITH ALL THIS SAID, you have a customer for life and cannot wait to bring my family!

First of all, we loved FrituWhaaa. We wanted to go somewhere we had never been, so we needed up at The 206 Food Hall in Roanoke, Texas. We were interested in the Dominican eatery. We originally went for the empanadas, which we ordered beef and pork. I also ordered a patacon and a hibiscus lemonade. Everything we had was delicious. The empanadas had a good shell and the meats were amazing. The beef patacon was delicious, the beef was great. We sent on a Saturday early afternoon, and the food hall was pretty empty overall, but as we finished our food, more people were starting to show up. It's a nice place in Downtown Ronoake to get some food and some drinks. I totally recommend Frituwhaaa if you are in the area and in the mood for some good Dominican food!

Visiting Texas from NYC, I knew I had to stop by Frituwhaaa for some authentic Dominican food—and wow, they did not disappoint! From the very first bite of my mangĂș con los tres golpes to the refreshing passion fruit juice, everything was absolutely delicious. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was James and Rosie. They welcome you like an old friend, making you feel right at home with their warmth and attentiveness. Their kindness, paired with incredible food, made this visit so special. I will definitely be back, and honestly, even if you’re not in the area, the drive is more than worth it—because going to Frituwhaaa is an experience you won’t want to miss!
