Bravo! to the staff (kitchen and service)! With a special shoutout to Tyler and Maddie!!! Perfect, caring, and not over-bearing customer service. When we first entered, we were greeted warmly by Joey, and seated immediately in a comfortable and non-pretentious dining room. The menu had both creative and comfortable choices, with something to appeal to everyone in the family, or your professional group. The real star of our first visit to Oak & Main was the flawless execution of each dish brought to our table. My wife and I are life-long home cooks, and since the onset of the pandemic, we have prepared over a thousand new recipes. I say that to make the point that we are not easy to please much less to be wowed. The dishes at O&M truly WOWED us! It is clear that O&M is very well managed by an experienced team that knows how to hire well, and to keep the staff happy and efficient. We will be enthusiastically recommending O&M to all our friends!!!
Here is a bit about the food. I say "a bit" because I could go on for pages, but I do want give a few highlights. We began with cocktails that were delicious. For the appetizer, we shared a delicious, roasted, almond encrusted brie which was served with a dish of raspberry preserves and plenty of perfectly toasted crostini to carry the brie and preserves. For the main, my wife had the barramundi which was pan seared with a creamy lemon garlic butter with capers, sides of roasted brussel sprouts and roasted yukon gold potatoes. I had the hand-cut tenderloin with sides of garlic butter green beans and cream cheese mashed potatoes. The steak was topped with a delicious chipotle compound butter. This was the best meal that we have experienced in years, if...
Read moreWe decided to try Oak and Main today. They have been open 16 days. We used to eat at this location when it was Twisted Root Burgers and tried Dizzy Lucy’s. You can still see the past architecture in the layout and old brick walls. The decor is updated and modern yet comfortable and pretty. We split the chop salad and shrimp cocktail for appetizers. The shrimp were a nice size and the cocktail sauce had a nice horseradish bite without being overwhelming. The chop salad (half size) was a nice size for a first course, a blend of crunchy textures and flavorful. Spouse had the prime rib which was cooked perfectly and came with au jus and horseradish sauces. Mashed potatoes were creamy and green beans crunchy. I loved my chicken breast with peach chutney. The chutney had hunks of peaches and a little spice that gave it a warm sensation. Mixed vegetable medley was good but a bit on salty side. They had a nice simple wine list and some cocktails. The bar is very attractive. The chocolate cake was three layers with a cake layer and a ganache layer—what’s not to like!!! Jim was our server. He was friendly, professional and on top of his game—kept us supplied in forks throughout the courses. (Didn’t make us stick used silverware on the tabletop). It was a great experience. We are happy to have this restaurant serving upscale American food in a nice casual...
Read moreCruzan oak street cocktail was so good! So sweet and not too boozy. Great $7 price during happy hour till 6. For an app the shrimp cocktail was super tasty. The sauce was nice and spicy but not too spicy. Side Caesar salad was super good. Lettuce super fresh and crisp. The dressing was a little sweeter than typical but I liked it. My boyfriend’s pan seared barramundi was super good. Came with pilowwy soft on the inside potatoes and grilled brussel sprouts both also good. Sadly, I got the lobster Mac and cheese cuz it sounded really good and got good reviews before me on yelp and google. It was super fishy, way fishier than lobster is. The lobster pieces were a little rubbery. I only had a few bites. My boyfriend is not a picky eater. Even he didn’t like it. I was very dissapointed everything led me to believe my entree would have been so much better. The atmosphere was really nice. Our server was nice at first. We came at 4:30ish when it wasn’t very busy. By 5:30 when we were ready to go and had the credit card out on the side of our table for about 15 min, they were pretty busy and our server did not comeback out from behind the bar. By 5:50, my boyfriend went up to the bar to pay the check. Service got such good reviews from others. Sadly that was not our...
