After a few hours of driving, my fiance and I were desperate to stop at a nice property. I booked at room last minute through Booking .com. Five minutes later, I showed up to the hotel and my room is ready. The young lady who checked me in was very well mannered. She explained all the amenities and gave us info about the restaurant in the hotel lobby which I was eager to use as I was starving. The only downfall was that the restaurant didn't open til 5pm. I'm going to assume that it was because of the time of year. I got to my room at 3:45pm and just relaxed. What I couldn't believe was the size of the one King bed in such an ENORMOUS room! I loved it! I wish I had my kids with me cause they would've loved their own space to play. However, this wasn't a "pleasure" trip. I had things to do. Once the restaurant opened, I rushed down with excitement as I was STARVING. The restaurant boasted an impressive menu but the waitress advised that they had pretty much nothing to serve. I ended up Ordering chicken wings and Firecracker Shrimp. They didn't have the chili sauce to go with the shrimp as stated on the menu so I had my shrimp with ranch dressing and that wasn't so bad. The drinks were fine. A little light on the amount of alcohol used per drink which led me to order three drinks to finally relax me. At night, the room was quiet. It seemed that there were many many construction workers staying there and that was fine. Usually people that check in with children, you have to worry about children running around and hearing the stomping on the ceiling. I think a lot of people were checking in last minute because of the snowstorm that was heading that way. I woke up really hungry and called the front desk to find out about breakfast. It's $16 per person. The breakfast was absolutely lousy and definitely not worth $16 per plate. I do wanna mention the little convenient store located right next to the front desk. They were fully stocked and they had everything you can eat, drink or snack to enjoy a quiet stay at your hotel. Everything in this room was immaculate. If I have to, I would stay here again. Check out was fast. There was a pregnant kitty roaming around the parking lot. I wish I could've picked her up and taking her home with me, but I can't as I have my fur babies at home. There was ample parking. It was easy to drive to, and it was easy to exit...
Read moreThis is the highest priced place I have ever stayed and very much not worth it so far and I'm in my 50's. There was no free coffee, cocoa and tea bar in the lobby at checkin and all evening. The clerk said I could buy it from the pantry. You get only 2 bottles of water free in your room (that sleeps 6)but have to use it to make coffee in the room. If you need anymore its $3 a bottle. This 1 bedroom suite is as small as a regular standard. The bathroom (that had no exhaust fan) is in the middle of the room and that door opens into the room (hit each other when exiting). The beds are hard and walls are thin as you can here what is going on in other rooms. The telephone doesn't work so I had to go from the 3rd floor several times to the lobby to get assistance because I didn't get replies from my text to the lobby until I made clerk aware in person. The clerk was nice but short and quickly hurrying back behind a wall at the desk. There is no free breakfast. The onsite grille is closed and it's in the teens outside and getting colder. The pool is very small(but warm) with trash on floor and no towels. I immediately ask for A refund to leave and the clerk said I would still be charged. A step on the pool ladder was broke. My grandson (while swimming) found the bolt+nut in the pool and fixed it.I will never stay here again for such a price. It has the Hilton PRICE but not the experience. Morning and again had to get towels for the pool from front desk which took 6 minutes for her to go behind that wall and bring them out.Towels for the pool were brought at 11 though the pool opened at 9 and there were still trash on floor. There was a coffee, tea and cocoa bar this morning, though I had to ask if it was free. It was put gone again when I checked out. The kids enjoyed the pool. The stairway was warmer than the interior of the hotel. My grandkids ran ahead to the lobby and when I caught up the glass doors on the fireplace were open and the flames were exposed for them to be burnt. The clerk was freezing.Had to sleep on pillows as the bed was to hard. The room windows have lots of hand prints on them (had to wonder how clean the room was). The tile floor seemed clean though. The interior seems nice except it was cold, even on the 3rd floor. I now have read other reviews and instead of empty apologiys fix the problems. May want to start with...
Read moreRoanoke Valley's Hidden Gem!! We just left and hated to go!! In the past 4 years we have been to Roanoke to visit and stayed at a hotel by Valley View mall. We were not pleased! Nor did we feel safe. I remember seeing this hotel as we were leaving. On this trip I thought we would try it out. I'm a person who is big on germs and cleanliness. This hotel far exceediex our expectations on the level of cleanliness, affordability and customer service. Everyone made us feel welcomed. First, I must brag on the location of this hotel. It sits high up on a hill that overlooks the area. From sunrise to sunset the view was breathtaking. We even had deer pay us a visit. Right below us was Texas Roadhouse. We didn't have to go far. Secondly, the breakfast was good along with service. You can choose either a buffet style breakfast or place an order. They also have a bar and food that you can order throughout the day. We enjoyed that each day a little treat they would leave out on the table as guest would leave and return. I appreciated the shop of snacks as well as small items you may have forgotten when packing. They didn't over charge! The free coffee station was a plus for us. The lobby area was inviting, clean and cozy! We had the opportunity to take a dip in the indoor pool. It wasn't crowded! The rooms were immaculate!! Let me type that again IMMACULATE!!! Our rooms had refrigerators and microwaves along with a modern day Keurig! The beds were comfortable and clean. Housekeeping took pride in doing their job at a level of excellence that far exceeded our expectation. I felt like I was on a cruise minus the ocean!!!! The hotel is in a very convenient place. There is a Walmart, Kroger and Food Lion less than one mile.-not to mention great shopping spots and downtown Roanoke. The hotel is also in proximity of the beautiful parkway. I almost was afraid of writing this review because I didn't want others to overcrowd "my spot",but how could I not share such an awesome place and an awesome experience! This hotel is the perfect location for family, if you are passing through or a romantic get-away! My only suggestion of improvement would be to take adavtage of the space/land behind it and make available an outdoor wedding venue. I would be the first to book, and add a hot tub🌸 We will never stay at another hotel in the valley...
