The restaurant was dirty. At least 5 dirty tables and the floor was really dirty. The server was not pleasant, It took over 5 minutes to get waited on. When we ordered she brought me coffee and my husband water which was served in a "to go" cup. She didn't give us silverware so I had to use my husband's straw to stir my coffee. My husband got his salad much later. When she handed it to him he asked for silverware and the waitress had an attitude, the meals came and he hadn't finished his salad yet. My food wasn't hot and the cheese wasn't melted and my bun was soggy. My husband's burger looked dry and his bun was also soggy. The food looked and tasted like it sat under the heating lamp for a good bit. I never once was offered a refill on my coffee😠 so spending $2.29 on a single small cup of coffee is ridiculous. We weren't even 1/2 way finished eating and the waitress brings over the check and said I'll take this when your ready making me feel rushed to finish my food. I went to use the restroom and it was disgusting. There was pee on the toilet seat. Usually the managers walk around asking how everything was and there wasn't a manager . Well I did see one sweeping the floors instead of having her employees do it. There was a table dirty next to me the entire time I was there. This Eat N Park use to be really good but at night there customer service is horrible. They need to train their employees how to treat customers. I have worked in restaurants, retail, bartended and customer service is very important. My husband left the waitress a $4 tip. I don't feel she deserved that much. I would have left her a buck and a note why (but I wasn't aloud). And people can complain about my comment...
Read moreThe quality of food and service at this Eat'n Park seems to have declined notably over the past couple years. I've been eating at this particular restaurant for well over 20 years, and prior to the pandemic, never had a bad experience. Just in the past six or seven months, every time I go there to eat, something is not quite up to prior standards. Much of this could be attributed to the restaurant being understaffed, but for the patron, there is only so much inconvenience you can deal with before your patience runs out and you stop eating there. The servers are all still very friendly, but they are just run ragged and can only provide the minimum level of service, maybe one drink refill and a check. On our last visit, my wife's side salad did not come with the rest of our salads. We were done eating ours before hers arrived, followed shortly by our meals. My mother-in-law wanted to take a quart of potato soup home with her, as she usually does, but they were out of potato soup. There seemed to be no one busing tables at all. I noticed some tables that sat, dirty and uncleared, for the entirety of our visit. So how was the food? Honestly, it was fine this time, but it varies from visit to visit. Previously, my wife ordered the whale of a cod meal, and her fish was as dried out and rubbery as "Ghandi's flip flop," as Gordon Ramsey would put it. No one got the cod this time, for that reason. I no longer know for sure that we are going to have a good experience when we go to Eat'n Park, and for that reason, we rarely go any more. What's it going to be? Bad food? Bad service? Both? You...
Read moreI like this unique Pittsburgh traditional family style Americana restaurant and saddened to see many of them close around the region. The food is good and decently priced, but unfortunately, as the food is cheaper, tgat means less tips for service, and when it comes to service, you get what you pay for. The service on this occasion was slow at the end, and after waiting a terribly long time to pay, we went to the counter like the practice used to be, but was told tge server would have to check us out at the table. At least the girl at the counter found our waitress and informed her we wanted to pay and leave. To be fair, the servers were busy, but the wait was ratger too long for my patience. The food is very good, and this is one of the few places left that actually has a salad bar, if you prefer to get up and make your own salad. The clientele seems to be working class people who want to eat out and enjoy a delicious meal while not having to pay a whole lot of money. The place is clean and relaxing as well. Also, the pies are excellent here, and I recommend buying a whole pie before you leave to enjoy later. I always try to make room for a desert, my favorite being the Cookie Fudge Fantasy. If you are not from Pittsburgh, I recommend the traditional (or original) Super Burger deal, which goes back to the 1940s, except for the price. The milkshake that comes with it is...
