My husband and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lucky Primes, and I'm delighted to share that our experience exceeded all expectations. From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for something special at this charming establishment that perfectly balances quality cuisine with reasonable pricing.
We began our meal with two exceptional appetizers that set the tone for the entire evening. The Cajun steak bites were nothing short of extraordinary - tender pieces of steak that literally melted in our mouths, served in a generous bowl alongside perfectly sautéed peppers, mushrooms, and onions. The entire dish was elevated by a sweet and spicy sauce that brought all the flavors together in perfect harmony. The portion was incredibly generous, making it an excellent value for the price. Our second appetizer, the saganaki, was equally impressive. The cheese was perfectly prepared with just the right amount of fresh lemon drizzled on top, creating that ideal balance of rich, creamy cheese with bright citrus notes. The presentation was beautiful, and the taste was even better than it looked.
To round out our starter course, we added a house salad to our meal. While it might seem like a simple addition, this salad played an important role in our dining experience, providing a fresh, crisp contrast to the rich appetizers. Little did we know at the time, but this salad would contribute to us becoming completely satisfied before our main courses even arrived. For our entrees, I selected the center-cut pork chops served with cinnamon apples. The presentation was beautiful, and I could tell immediately that this was going to be something special. The pork chops were perfectly prepared, and the cinnamon apples provided a wonderful sweet complement to the savory meat. However, here's where our appetizer success became both a blessing and a challenge - we were so thoroughly satisfied by the delicious starters that we couldn't do justice to our main courses during our visit. I'm happy to report, though, that the pork chops were absolutely magnificent when I enjoyed them the following day. The flavors had melded beautifully overnight, and the quality of the preparation was evident even as leftovers. My husband chose the ribs, and while we couldn't finish them during our dinner, they certainly didn't go to waste. In fact, they provided him with an unexpected early morning treat. When he woke up at 5 AM and couldn't get back to sleep, he found himself drawn to those ribs and proceeded to demolish every single bone. I have to admit, I was slightly disappointed the next morning when I discovered nothing but clean bones at the top of the trash - I had been looking forward to trying them myself! This speaks volumes about how delicious they must have been.
Beyond the exceptional food, Lucky Primes impressed us with its wonderful atmosphere. The restaurant strikes the perfect balance between casual and refined, creating an environment where you can truly relax and enjoy your meal. It's the kind of place where you can have an intimate conversation without having to raise your voice, yet it doesn't feel stuffy or overly formal. Perhaps most impressive of all was the final bill. For two people, including multiple appetizers, salads, and two substantial entrees, we spent only sixty dollars. In today's dining landscape, finding this level of quality at such reasonable prices is increasingly rare. Lucky Primes proves that you don't have to break the bank to enjoy an exceptional dining experience.
The value proposition at Lucky Primes is truly outstanding. When you consider the generous portion sizes, the quality of ingredients, the skilled preparation, and the pleasant atmosphere, the pricing seems almost too good to be true. This is the kind of restaurant that makes you want to become a regular customer, knowing that you can count on both quality and value every...
Read moreI see now why this restaurant is called Lucky's...because you're lucky if you get a good steak! My family took me here for my birthday a few weeks ago, and yes, it was a memorable experience...but for all the wrong reasons! I've heard people rave about this place and was excited to try it out. First off, they don't take reservations. We got here at about 5:30pm on a Saturday and the lobby was packed. We were told it would be about a 20 minute wait time...I was fine with that. Turned out to be closer to 45 minutes standing there while several tables were empty and available for seating. The poor hostess was doing her best, but no signs of mgmt were in sight to streamline the seating process. We got to our table and our waitress seemed like she did not want to be there. She robotically took our order and rushed off without showing any signs of an authentic personality. This was particularly the case when I ordered the wedge salad to go with my 14oz NY Strip and was promptly told they were out... (at 6:15pm???) I wanted to ask about some of the appetizers, but felt like I would have inconvenienced her by inquiring, so I passed. She brought 2 warm loaves of bread, which I must say, was the highlight of the meal (I wish I was kidding!) She then brought our soups and my house salad. A fair amount of the greens were browned and dry, like they had been sitting out for a bit. Anyway, the entrees finally arrived and since my wife and I ordered the same steak, you would have expected them to look similar. One of them was recognizably smaller than the other. The waitress caught this and had a priceless response..."well, how long have you two been together...just give her the smaller one!" Wow?!? I couldn't believe my ears. After she trotted away, I looked at my wife and said did you hear that? I mean we're paying for 2-14 oz steaks... shouldn't we get 2-14 oz steaks? Anyway, we dug in and I gotta say, worst steak I've had in years. The temps were uneven throughout...we both ordered MR temps and neither steak was similar...in size or temperature. Mine was also extremely tough...and the flavor did not warrant all of the accolades I had heard about prior to coming here for the first time. My son ordered a seafood dish...some sort of stuffed fish, which was surprisingly delicious. His plate was the only one to be enjoyed that evening, as his wife had the filet medallions and shrimp, which again were undercooked and flavorless. At this point, my wife and I ate what edible parts we could and chalked this night down as a teaching moment. One that neither of us intended to repeat ever again. I was bummed because I really wanted this place to deliver, but it came up short on so many levels. Live and learn, right? Needless to say, we all passed on dessert. We figured we'd cut our losses. Graciously, my son picked up the tab for my birthday and although he is usually a handsome tipper, he announced that she was getting his bare minimum of 15% since her disconnected demeanor was so apparent to all of us. Sounds like many folks really love this place. Good for them! As for me and my family, never again. Let this be fair warning for all you 1st timers that are thinking about trying Lucky's Prime Time. The four of us gave it a unanimous 8 thumbs down. Too much competition out there to settle for below average. Good luck on whatever you...
Read moreVisited Lucky’s on 12/8/2022 with my wife and 3 kids at approximately 7:40pm. I am embarrassed for this establishment and their standards for quality.
We ordered: the crab stuffed grouper, 2 kids meals, a NY Strip meal and a steak salad.
The latter two dishes were ordered with a medium/rare temperature. 35 mins after we ordered, our food came out. To us this felt like an eternity considering the dining room was cleared out by the time we received our food and our kids were hungry.
To our surprise the steak dishes were burnt to a crisp and were severely overdone. After sharing this with the waiter he was shocked and spoke with his manager. We were offered a free dessert to wait once more for them to “redo” the dishes.
Considering it was already late (already 8:25pm at this point) and a school night we could not wait another 30 minutes for food so we elected to eat the sides and try to consume what we could of the overdone meat.
To put it simply the entire steak was inedible. Just imagine trying to eat the worst cut you could buy and overcooking that. My 12 year old was chewing the piece of steak for 3 mins and said “this is tough”.
At the end of our experience, I asked to speak to the manager (young lady in the front) directly to request the inedible steak to be comped. She said that since we didn’t send it back the first time it cannot removed from the bill but rather she will “prorate” it based on what she thinks we ate. Quite the options we were given (wait longer for edible food, or pay for inedible food). She quickly removed that dish from our table and ended up removing $10 from our bill, the dish was $18.99. It appeared that the $8.99 broke the bank for Luckys. Embarrassing move on their part.
It’s not the money that’s the issue here, it’s the principle. As consumers we are all prepared to pay in full for our experience and food. However, when the food takes 35 mins to receive, and the quality is echelons below standard there is a reason for concern. Lucky’s is supposed to be a steak house - it’s in their name. Having two steak dishes come out severely over done is 1.) neglect on part of the kitchen staff, 2.) mismanagement, and 3.) disregard for quality
When the issue was brought up the first time, I would’ve expected some kind of understanding on part of the establishment to know that my family waited patiently for our food once, and to ask for us to wait again means you don’t value our time…it’s ludicrous. Those dishes should’ve been comped the first time around. I should not need to ask.
We’ve been patrons of Lucky’s since it opened around 2014-2015. This experience has left a negative impression. Hopefully more training is provided to your management staff to ensure they know how to properly assess, action and remedy...
