Panera Bread — Restaurant in Rochester Hills

Door Dashers beware. I accepted an offer as a Dasher. The order was to be ready for pickup at 5:58 pm. After waiting 15 minutes and looking at the order screen watching other orders below my pickup (dine in orders) being ready before mine, I inquired as to the order. I was told that the order was complicated so was taking longer. (Note: it was 1 smoothie, 1/2 sandwich, cup of mac & cheese, side baguette and a side of chips). It took another 5 minutes (ready at 6:21pm). I was asked to confirm the order in front of the Panera employee. I paused and said, “I wish you wouldn’t have lied and told me the order was taking longer because it was complicated.” The person I said this to was the General Manager and was working as the expo person. She then said I didn’t understand the business, not knowing that I’ve worked as a server and had to expo, and I was called impatient (after waiting 20 minutes past my pick up time estimated by the Door Dash system). Another employee chimed in to tell me that I would be blocked, etc. As a platinum dasher with high customer ratings, I take my job seriously. I’ve never encountered such hostile behavior when picking up an order. Panera’s inability to have the order ready on time impacted the delivery time to the customer for this order and the subsequent order being picked up. A simple “I’m sorry the order is taking longer than expected” would have been a better response, especially from a person in management. I just wanted an estimate of when the order would be ready so I could communicate to my customer. My name is Allyson. Sippers beware...Not sure what happened to this location but in the last month/month and a half it has REALLY gone down hill.

I am a member of the Sip Club and usually go to this location every day for coffee and charged lemonades. As of late they are constantly out of everything - cups, coffee, charged lemonades, pop flavors, etc. (see attached images)

The charged lemonade station has been EMPTY for a month and the pop machine has been missing flavors for a month...occasionally they put out these really small pitchers w/lemonade that have saran wrap over the top of them and fruit flies all over them...pretty disgusting.

You can tell that the staff does not care. The place is frequently dirty and as mentioned above there are zero efforts to repair any of their beverage dispensers or even have beverages available for customers.

I used to get lunch here from time to time but the food has gone downhill as well.

It does not matter what time of the day...morning, noon, or evening the place is just not managed properly.

As mentioned above this has only really been happening for the last month or so...I have been going to this location for quite some time prior and these issues were nonexistent. Not sure if they changed managers or what but whatever was changed is...

This location is awful . Do not come here if you want fresh food or a quick drive through experience. Drove up the girl asked me to give her a minute and it ended up being 5 min . Pulled up to the window and waited 20 min . Mind you I was the only drive thru order at that point . I ordered a salad, flatbread , iced latte and an iced tea . After another 5 min at the window the cashier says Oh sorry we’re out of espresso so I just asked for a refund . Another 10 min goes by as I watch all these workers laughing and messing around . So I flag another worker down and ask for a refund for my entire order . The one guy behind her just bursts out laughing . The manager comes to the window and says well your food is almost ready . I’m sorry it does not take 30 min to prepare food . She said they were backed up . Well if you’re backed up your employees shouldn’t be laughing and messing around . She ended up refunding me and giving me the food which was awful . Salad had no dressing or cheese . Flatbread was cold and iced tea had no ice . When your paying over $20 for food you expect it to be good . I will never be back her again especially if it’s ran by a bunch...
