City Market Downtown — Restaurant in Rochester

LOVE this place for a quick lunch. I've been spoiled - they make my favorite salad ever. Staff are great, work hard, and are so personable. Elyse was awesome enough to motivate me to write a review. She not only made my favorite lunch, but turned my day around from "blah" to "things are pretty darn good." And that is before I took a bite!

My only critique: The lines. Sometimes the line for sandwiches can be long (because of their quality. taste, and limitations of the physical space - not the fault of the employees). If you aren't familiar, it may be confusing to figure out the salad and sandwich lines...

I am beyond impressed with City Market. This is a local favorite of my boyfriends and I and we love it! I decided for our next staff meeting we were going to order from here and I can't say enough good things. Not only was the ordering process seamless, all of our 19 orders were correct and I called twice last minute to make changes. It was delivered on time and everything came labeled and packaged in nice boxes. All of the staff was impressed and we will plan on ordering from here again! Pre-pandemic, I worked just a block from City Market. Given I'm rarely downtown now on a weekday afternoon (working from home), I made sure to stop when I was able to yesterday.

The staff was so incredibly welcoming and kind when we walked in. I ordered the veggie sandwich as well as the chicken penne pasta salad. They were both wonderful - just as I remembered.

I love visiting small local places who are killing it, because we are happy to support our hard-working Rochester business owners. Thanks for yet another...
