This was our first and last time visiting this restaurant. My partner and I arrived around 2 or 3pm one weekday afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner and we were very disappointed. I hardly EVER write reviews for poor experiences but it was really bad and hopefully no one else will have the same experience. First, the sign up front asked for guests to seat themselves, which we did, on the patio. After seating, it was going on 15 minutes before anyone even came to our table to greet us. I ordered a sweet tea and my partner ordered a Diet Pepsi/Coke - so not even anything from the bar that would have had to be specially made. Another 10 minutes before our drinks arrived. No exaggeration. At the time, there was literally ONE other table outside on the patio and very few patrons inside so I have no clue why the drinks took so long. It was another eternity before our server took our order. Alex ordered a chicken burrito and I ordered a half-order of nachos with pulled pork. The food was terrible. Alex's burrito was so dry he couldn't even finish it. Hardly any chicken in it and the rest was just dry seasoned rice. Hardly any sauces or cheese that would have moistened the food. My nachos were about the same. There was almost no cheese or sauce on it. Basically just dry nachos with a little pulled pork. To make the bone-dry food even worse is that our drink refills took another insanely long time to come out to us - even though the table right next to us was checked on multiple times. The folks at that table were apparently regulars because the server knew their names already. As a matter of fact, our server only came out one more time after delivering the food and that was to see if we were ready for our check. I didn't even GET a refill; by the time she came out to hand us the bill I was so frustrated I didn't even ask for anything else to drink. I just wanted to get out of there. We're new to Rock Hill and have been experimenting with local restaurants and this establishment will definitely be one that we will NOT be revisiting. Just a bad experience all around.
*Wanted to add that as I was reading other reviews, I happened upon a review that pointed out that a couple - an African American couple - didn't quite feel welcomed there and that the food and service (unsurprisingly) were atrocious. The owner's response? That they were sorry for the bad experience and that the most important aspect of their establishment was - get this - that patrons "spend money!" Talk about being incredibly tone deaf. What a crock...do...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. My husband and I dined here on Saturday night March 26th. The first time we had a date night in 7-8 months. We wanted to try something new. We moved close to the area and wanted to support small restaurants. I have to say we will never ever eat here again. The food was awful! My food was so dry. It isn’t hard to make a quesadilla. The cheese was t all the way cooked and cold. They brought a side of Mac and cheese and it was cold and awful. They brought me a newer one and the colors were very different. Still awful. My husband got tacos and said they were so bland. Brought one home and our son couldn’t even eat it. He is an amazing eater. The service was awful. Sat there for about 15 minutes before someone came and took our drink order. We ordered food then. Took forever to get our food. The place at the time we went wasn’t busy. We ran out of drinks before our dinner was even brought to us which took a long time. I had to get up and go to the bar and ask to get a refill. She was so nice. She kept checking on us doing our waitress job. Our waitress didn’t even bring our drinks or food to us. She was very fast at getting us our check. There was a table at the front when we came in. A nice family. They were leaving as we were coming in. When we left their table still hadn’t been cleaned and we were there for a very long time. When we 1st parked I kept getting stared at bc we parked in handicapped. I have a plate. I have had 6 back surgeries and have a stress fracture I am trying to heal and wearing a boot. Not sure why I was looked bad at. My advice don’t go there. Save the money. Very disappointing. So, I wanted to add that the owner only responds on positive reviews. This review was over a week ago the owner seems...
Read moreRecently, while visiting Rock Hill, my boyfriend and I decided to try The Roasting Company. I got “chicken and rice con queso” with a side of Mac and cheese and fries. The chicken and rice was very bland and the chicken was extremely dry. The max and cheese was inedible with how awful it was. The Mac and cheese was dry and flavorless. Fries were served cold. Overall my food was almost inedible as a whole. My boyfriend got the chicken and dumplings with a side of cinnamon apples. He said the chicken and dumplings were good, but could notice the dry chicken. He absolutely loveddd the cinnamon apples. For our cornbread, both of us could not finish it. It was so so dry.
Service - Walking in initially, it is confusing to know what to do. You can go up to the counter and order right away or go sit down. We didn’t know if it was seat yourself or what. There was also a bar. This place is all over the place. We received no help, just decided to take a seat on the patio. A very nice girl served us. However, she was extremely slow. Everything took forever except for the food coming out. The food came out virtually right away. Scarily right away. Due to this we can tell that nothing is made to order, everything is just scooped up and served. No wonder the food sucked.
Overall - I don’t like giving out bad reviews, however I was unable to find much that I liked about this place. I have no idea how this place has...
