Fozzy's Bar & Grill - Loves Park IL — Restaurant in Rockford Township

After receiving four happy birthday postcards and coupons in the mail from you to try the restaurant, we decided to give it a try and take you up on the offer for a free entrée and dessert. My wife and I came in around 12:30pm on Sunday 8/4 and sat at the bar. The female bartender (red hair) was very nice and provided excellent service. She was great and we were starting to like the place. We asked her prior to ordering what the coupon provided, and there was no mention of an apparent “expiration date”.

Upon finishing our meal and then giving our credit card, a blonde female came over and started to interrogate us, saying the bartender did not know what she was doing or how to ring up the coupon, demanding the date we received it, asking for our drivers licenses, its expired, fill out on our phone to receive a code, after all that the blonde female “graciously” said she would not honor the coupon, but give us 50% off our lowest priced entrée!

Owner Nick – if you want to send out coupons to bring new customers in, please do not try and bait and switch them with a hidden expiration date. It may also serve you well to just try and bring them in to try the restaurant for the first time which I understand is the marketing reason behind these coupons – who cares about an expiration date? Maybe have the expiration date and then say, “The coupon does have an expiration date but since this is your first time here, we want to make sure you have a great time and enjoy your meal so we will take care of you.”

What you have done is just make us mad never again to return and we are getting a good laugh telling this story to all our neighbors and friends letting them know that if they get one of these bogus coupons to throw it in the trash. It’s a scam and classic bait and switch from a timeshare...

Decent burgers, fries were pretty lame, prepackaged, not near as good as fresh cut. Atmosphere is non existent, just a big warehouse feel. Would have given 4 stars but the men's bathroom smelled like piss so bad that it ruined the whole time there! My wife said it was so bad that it about made her throw up even out in the entryway to to women's restroom!! I don't know if it's coming out of a drain or a urinal trap isn't working. Speaking of urinals, they've got no dividers and out of the 3, 2 are so close I guess they want you to hold hands!! Also there is no paper towel dispenser in the men's room, but there is in the women's my wife reports. There are also only the hand dryers that you stick your hands in and is impossible to use without touching them, defeating the whole purpose of having clean hands when you know some people just rinse their hands and stick them inside the dryer, depositing their germs in there! Those are the most unsanitary dryers on the market and shouldn't be used by anyone. Also, why are you guys too cheap to have towels for the guys but not for women? Lots of other places with good burgers in Rockford, so when figuring in the lame atmosphere, we likely won't ever go back. I don't just rate one thing with a restaurant (food), I rate the whole experience. I also hate all these places that have the portable payment machines. If I find another place that uses them and I actually want to go back, I'll have to remember to use cash only so they can't use that stupid portable machine on me. By far the worst service have ever encountered. My party and I was with today went in for lunch. We all ordered at the same time; while everyone in my group received there food I did not. So I waited and waited. Server returned to check on how everyone was enjoying there food, completely ignored me. Began to make me question whether or not I ordered anything. Afterwords server returned and a member in my group said what going where is her order!? Server turns to me and says I’m sorry I’m trying to get the cook to make your order, he just dropped it now. By this time everyone was finished with there food. So I told server to just bag it to-go! I even left a $5 tip I don’t know why I did that. Any rate the bill was paid by another in my group, I left he said he was gonna wait to speak to a manager about the lack of service. I didn’t want anything to do with it so I head out. Went and got me some lunch elsewhere. Oh and tossed the egg rolls I had order in the trash!! Never again

I wrote this review for my wife who is a beautiful black women. Not sure why she went through this negative experience but it has shook her. Made her cry in her car and call me to tell me how she felt during her visit here. I want to believe that her lack of service had nothing to do with her personally, and perhaps her server was just that bad at their job. Any rate just will assume to never visit and/or recommend this establishment...
