Sugarjones — Restaurant in Rockford Township

I booked with them last year and we talked about the design of my cake having two tiers. The top would look like trees and the bottom would have a fox and two hairs with a mixture of red and green leaves. I even sent a photo of how I wanted it to look. Are wedding was this August we confirmed flavors in may. Than I sent another email in july to confirm when final payment had to be in. They told me they reach out 3 to 4 weeks before the wedding to finalize. They never reached out. So I went to the original location to find it under remodeling and no one ever contacted me to tell me this. So I sent another email and a face book message an this was about 10 days before my wedding. They final called back and we went over the details and the photos again. The day of my wedding I heard the cake was here and I was a littel nervous because I had no idea if it was going to look like what I wanted and asked for. I was very disappointed because it did not look like what I asked for. They said the animals would have to probly be spray or painted on. These look like they were cut out and stuck on. There weren't many leaves and it looked really plain. Not woodland and decorative like I showed in the photo I wanted. Even though it wasn't what I wanted the flavors were amazing. If you do book with them I would have them do one before your event so you know...

The cake that was ordered from Sugar Jones for my 77th birthday was awful. 1st thing that disappointed me was the size. It was 6x6. It looked like a top tier of a wedding cake, not a birthday cake. They could barely squeeze the words happy Birthday on it. 2nd disappointment was the lack of decoration on the sides of the cake. It appeared unfinished. 3rd disappointment was the taste. It was dry, tasting stale and the frosting was very hard and also tasted stale. The cake was supposed to have Bavarian creme filling. All of our guests agreed you could not taste the Bavarian creme at all. This cake did not seem to be a fresh cake at all. We could have baked a better cake ourselves. My final disappointment was hearing how much this cake cost. My daughter deserves a refund for this cake. If I was Sugar Jones I'd be embarrassed at the delivery of this cake. I'm not sure why the reviews are so good as other reviews complain of dry stale cakes and cupcakes as well. Sorry for my disappointment but you all really failed...

The cake was utterly disappointing in every aspect, the decorations look like a child made them. For 227 dollars I expected something way more extravagant and presentable but appearance wise it looks poor. The taste was also awful, everyone who had it said it tasted like almost nothing and some parts tasted like Oreos even though I hadn’t asked for anything Oreo flavored. The inside of the bottom cake layer was horribly mushy too. They had told me every part of this cake would be edible but the antlers were certainly not, I took a bite full and got a mouthful of aluminum and wire. The chocolate layer that covered the aluminum tasted like straight chemicals and so did the heart on top. I will certainly never buy from here again and wouldn’t recommend anyone else to. The only positive about this cake was the printed image of the cat and edible rice...
