My wife & I decided to write our reviews together, so here it is...
My Review: It's nice to go a sandwich place that doesn't have the same menu as everyone else. Everything I've tried on the menu is very good, big fan of the muffaletta. This local has a friendly, attentive staff and I would recommend it if you're in the area.
*The Wife's Review: Jason's Deli is 1000 times better than Panera! In fact, I don't even know why we were going to Panera anymore. I also think Jason's Deli is not "the same" as McAlister's Deli, it is BETTER (even though McAlister's Deli also blows Panera way out of the game). All that being said, I LOVE Jason's Deli! The food is sooo good, and I could eat here every day if I had to. Everything is high quality...super fresh ingredients used, fun menu that all sorts of picky & particular eaters can enjoy, reasonably priced, plus the restaurant itself is very clean and well organized. It just presents as top tier all around! My husband loves meat dishes (Muffalettas, etc.), I myself am a Vegetarian, and our family members each and all have their own preferences and particulars, but for ME- to see so many actual rainbow colors and of course "greens" at their best & in my menu favorites (not brown, not mushy, not dirty/expired/or whatever else), is really what makes me happy! The employees are always so friendly, you can tell they care and work hard to set a standard (which we should appreciate). Lastly, when I discovered they also offer free (self-serve) soft-serve ice cream to customers, I was blown away! Do people even truly GET how...
Read moreI was excited to have the salad bar. I knew they give everyone clean gloves to use when making their salad which was reassuring. However I noticed that the employee working the salad bar was not using sanitary procedures. She would take dirty plates from tables back to the bus area and scrape food off them. Then with the same gloves she had been wearing, go back to the salad bar and pick stray vegetable pieces out of the salad bar bowls. This would be like picking a stray piece of lettuce out of the cauliflower, or picking a stray olive out of the shredded cheese, etc.. She also would bus tables them go behind the counter and fix people's food with the same dirty gloves.
I talked to the manager about this and she said she would speak to her. At this point I would have been happy knowing that the situation had been addressed.
However when I went up to the counter to get a cup and spoon for ice cream she refused to serve me. The gloved employee I was referring to earlier was standing behind the counter about 4 feet away from me. Rather than helping me, she turned away from me and walked all the way down by the register and talked to another employee. I saw her pointing at me during this conversation so I know she was probably telling him about what happened earlier. Then the gentleman came down and have me my ice cream cup and spoon. It was very easy. No reason to take an attitude. It was this part that...
Read moreWe live in Woodstock and I called Before we came to clarify that the salad bar was open because we just wanted salad. They told me it was. After a 45 minute drive, we arrive to discover that there is now a one time salad bar due to covid. I explained That I don’t like my food to touch on the same plate, so I would only get a few things per plate. Which is why I like Salad bars in the first place! So I asked If I could Have an extra plate. They told me no and that I would have to pay for an entire new meal. I even asked for a few small plates instead of one large plate. They said no. This cashier was incredibly rude. They said the issue was due to covid so people aren’t going up more than once, but if I paid for more plates, I would still be going up more than once. Covid doesn’t care for how many plates I paid for. The same cashier took a cup from another customer after the customer touched it and put it right back in the clean cup stack. 🙄 the one trip salad bar rule will loose a lot of customers. My family included. I dont Want my potato salad to touch my apples or whatever. It’s not due to covid....
