Stopped into this location with my wife on a Monday night to try it out.... Looked cool from the front. We read a few of the mixed reviews and decided we would find out for ourselves. So glad we did because we were extremely blown away by just how awesome the smoked wings were and the service we recieved. Carmen our bartender was incredibly friendly, super passionate about the place, very knowledgeable about the menu and all the different whiskeys they offered. We were happy to get an opportunity to talk with her and ask her questions as this was our first time ever visiting a Smokey Bones. We were very happy to find out that Mondays are all you can eat wings. So of course that is what we went with. We also tried several of their amazing sauces... Ohhh my word those wings are so good... Smoked perfectly! They had perfect seasoning, perfect color, just a tad of that smoky flavor goodness you want, and they were not dried out which is what is important to me. It showed that the kitchen knew what they were doing! We also tried the cornbread with praline pecan butter which was out of this world! My wife and I both agreed that we will be back for sure. If not for the wings, maybe to try something else on the menu.... I did try the maple smoked knob creek whiskey, which was my first time seeing it and drinking it. Delicious! Also they have a wonderful craft beer menu available on tap and in cans or bottle. Over all a wonderful experience! The place was really clean, had a modern hipster vibe, staff was all friendly, everyone was smiling and happy to be there. These little things will make this place a success along with awesome bartenders like Carmen! Keep up the great work and good luck in the future!

1st visit, seated quickly. Waited a bit for our server, turns out she was also the bartender with about 8 ppl at the bar. Not sure if she had other tables as well. We ordered, and it took awhile to get our food. When it did come out it came out in 3 parts, with a small wait in between. Our son ordered a sampler platter and the nachos were sad (not because he odered most of the toppings on the side but because the the cheese was congealed, it had obviously sat awhile). The manager was roaming the restaurant, checking on tables but didn't seem to be helping staff. He checked with us RIGHT after some of our food had been delivered, it was obvious we didn't have everything yet or had even started to eat. Never came by to check later. One group of 4 left before ordering food, they were obviously irritated about something. The food was ok. My husband said the chicken on his salad was dry. My burger was good, but super messy. And if you don't like onions, its a bad choice (onions 3 ways! Raw, sauteed and deep fried, picked most off) I've never had heart burn from eating a burger before, needless to say if we go back, I'd try something else. They didn't charge for extra ranch, and were not stingy on it either, that was good. Ladies room was clean, mens had an issue with the stall door. Our son needed help cause he couldn't lock it. (Hes 12, so this isn't a little kid thing) Overall, not the worst place but theres room for improvement! Oh and no brisket till after 4pm.. which was a bummer for all 3 of us. We ordered the Crowd Pleaser, Charbroiled Chicken Caesar Salad and Smokehouse Burger

We first went here about two years ago. I have to say that the place seems to have changed. First, I want you to say it is not a bad place. The food is decent, thought the meats could use more seasoning to set the different kinds apart. We went for Christmas Eve (2023) and the first thing that I noticed was that every other restaurant in the area was packed, but not this one. (Something that speaks volumes.) The waiter was very friendly but didn’t see to have very good training. We were ready to order for a while but had no one to give an order to. We had multiple issues with our order and many issues with the bill. Two people (separate orders) in our party didn’t get items that they ordered which seemed to be a kitchen problem. The food came out hot and was good. The value seemed to be lacking when it came to the large meat platters. There really should be some kind of side included. When we went to pay, we had many issues with our bill. I am not sure if there was a manager working, but our server did a great job handling all of the mistakes. However, with better training, some of those mistakes could have been avoided. Atmosphere wise, the place is nice but doesn’t seem like the details are important. For example, the projector that displays the logo was apparently no longer working for one reason or another and the floor was very sticky. So this is where you can see that the issues could be fixed from the top down. There was nothing that would keep me from trying it again, but probably not as eager to do so. Give them a try. Maybe your experience would be better!!

2nd time where they messed up the order because they do not listen to the customer. Ordered the mini nachos. I said no cheese and no sour cream. Food came out with sour cream and it was the servers fault because he couldn’t take down the order right. Meat was dry and looked liked someone microwaved it several time. Fries were cold. Order boneless wings. Bring out bone in wings. Server Bradley thought we said Smokey wings. Not sure where he got that from when we clearly said boneless wings. Our food did not come out all together. Place was dead so can’t use busy as an excuse. Server can’t take a complaint. Saying sorry and throwing the bill down is very unprofessional. Also he had zero concerns that the food was dry. Learn to put on a fake smile and act like an adult. Don’t waste your time and money at this location. TN and FL locations so much better. Been to this location several times in hopes they would get better. Nope they got worse. Only nice and friendly person was the manager. Thank you to the manager to make it right. This is the only Smokey Bones that is dead. We have gone to several Smokey Bones (in different states) and those locations are always busy with no issues. Their employees don’t help make the place better. When we first went several times they had an awesome server/bartender but she no longer works there.

The Bone Fire Grill for two or four people is amazing. My wife and I order Bone Fire for four to take plenty home for tue week Yes, Smokey Bones in Rockford IL is 🔥. This place is rocking with the best BBQ smoked ribs, sausages, grill chicken and grill steak. The BoneFire grill delivered to our table is probably the best experience we've had in any restaurant. The service is on point. Our server Alex delivered excellent service and checked in on my wife and I in making sure we were good with drinks and that our food was great. The smoked brisket chili bowl is the best I've had in any restaurant. Just make sure to ask to have it nice and 🔥 no not spicy but hot. The Bonefire grill is so darn good we haven't had a chance to order anything else. Every time we take that 30min drive all we think about is that BoneFire Grill😆 😂. The sides are just as good, cinnamon apples baked beans and Mac & cheese to name a few. Couple simple reminders for customers Make sure your drinks are not watered down with the new bartender but kindness to correct the drink is appreciated. The Brisket Chili always fantastic but make sure you request it hot and that it is not served luke warm. Besides that amazing restaurant. WE NEED A SMOKEY BONES IN ALGONQUIN!!

We decided to try Smokey Bones on a whim as we saw it coming through town. The Good: The meats are tasty, and the sauces are also pretty solid. First impressions of the restaurant are warm and inviting. The floor is spacious and the greeting staff is smiling and upbeat. Our server was attentive and personable (when she was around.) The Bad: The portion sizes are suprisingly small, especially for the sandwiches. The service is a little spotty, but you can't fault them much due to the effects of the pandemic on restaurant staff. The meat was also a bit dry, clearly having been prepared much earlier in the day. The Ugly: The baked beans taste precisely like Bush canned baked beans, and the garlic toast is practically indistinguishable from Texas bbrand frozen toast. The turkey had an oddly familiar flavor that was similar to Hormel brand. Severely disappointing in comparison to the price paid.
