Rocky's Dairy Depot — Restaurant in Rockford

We go there almost daily but there have been a few issues lately. One being the amount of bees that are swarming the entire area. It is dangerous for people that are allergic. The employees know and don't seem to be doing anything about it.

It is simple to call a professional or to treat them at night. A simple google search would be a great start to getting rid of the bees.

There seem to be at least one employee that charges a bit more than every other employee also. I know how much the ice cream should be and send my kids with enough cash, but sometimes it isn't enough. Rock's is a tiny, walk up, ice cream shop just a "stone's throw" from the center of downtown Rockford. They have "Homemade" and "Hudsonville" brands of ice cream as well as soft serve. There isn't much seating, just one table and a couple benches but most people like to get their treat and then stroll down to the river. It's a favorite for the locals so you're likely to see someone you know if you live there. The menu is limited to ice cream and slushy drinks so don't plan on having a meal there, but if you're looking for a cold treat, this is a great place to go on a hot summer day...

Ice cream was good and you get a good amount. It seemed reasonably priced. My only complaint is that they need a bigger/better menu option. It was our first time there and the menu was very small on the side of the building and you had to get out of line to read it - made it very hard to really see options while waiting in line. It's no big deal if it's not busy but it often is very busy so reading the menu is a bit challenging.
