My husband and I went out for date night. Our plans were to go elsewhere that evening; however, sushi came to mind for my husband, and he immediately took us to Suzuki's. The restaurant is very small. I do recommend that you call ahead and make reservations. They were able to take us without a reservation since we came before they became busy. I personally do not eat sushi, but my husband love's the sushi they offer. I did notice they have a takeout service, which is pretty convenient. Their food is delicious and packed with so much flavor. We both ordered a miso soup, which was good, but the broth was different than what I am used to, and they add shitake mushrooms to it. We also ordered a side of edamame. I ordered a house salad which was absolutely delicious. My husband and I plowed through that it was bursting with so much flavor. I know my husband ordered one of the specials, which was eel. I think that was his favorite. I'm not sure of the other sushi dish he ordered. My main dish was chicken teriyaki. Although the chicken was a little overcooked, the flavor and combination of vegetables made up for it. There were so many veggies in my dish and a few I've never had let alone heard of before, like a watermelon radish. The house made teriyaki sauce was so delicious. My taste buds were dancing. Don't let the bowl size fool you. I thought it was small initially, but that bowl is deep and packed with so many goodies. There were new veggies surfacing the further you got down in the bowl. One of the best chicken teriyaki dishes I've had despite the chicken being a little on the dry side. We finished our dinner with a delicious chocolate cream cake. That was divine. All in all, this is a place I would definitely go back to with my husband and order the same dish. The service was excellent, and the presentation was perfect. 5 star restaurant in my book.

The food was amazing, but The unfortunate reason I gave them 4 stars is "people ordering take out." The staff is very small and they had a huge amount t of take-out orders coming in. I had to wait a long time to have service. Once I made my drink order I had to wait 15 min in before it came to the table. My food came at a reasonable time once the orders slowed down. I recommend this place but I suggest having reservations. The second time when I took my wife . Our experience was 10 times better. The service was quick and friendly. We got to the restaurant when it just opened so we had first dibs on seating. The food does not disappoint. Absolutely amazing!. I wish that they had a bit more help when they do get busy. I know at the time of us coming here, the middle of winter...I quess it's hard to find help and customers are kind of unpredictable.

Really nice place with excellent quality ingredients for the sushi. We went as a family and ordered some mixed sushi platters and a miso soup. Everything was delicious, the miso soup a bit bland, but that is how they are. I recommend getting the mixed plates when you like all kind of seafood, as they are put together based on the daily availability. It was highly recommended to us to get a reservation in advance and we tried getting one through the automated phone call service they have. We called from a Swiss phone number, as we are visiting from there. When we didn't receive a call back we went by (we stayed in the area) and they said they don't call back international numbers and there is no other way to reserve from far away. For us it worked out in the end and we enjoyed a very nice evening!

Went on a whim, and so glad I did. Also very grateful that I called for reservations. Even though it was the off season, there were only two tables left for the night.

Most restaurants I've been to in Maine, people don't really get dressed y, so we were all very casual. Everyone else was dressed a bit nicer. Even so, we never felt out of place or looked down on.

The server was fantastic. She knew the specials by heart and made sure to let us know we could customize items.

We split the dumpling soup three ways -- as she described it, it was like a heavier miso and had three dumplings. It was served in a paper(?) bowl over a flame with a really cool heat adjuster. The soup was amazing and had wonderful fresh veggies.

Then we got several different types of rolls, and every one of them was incredible.

The fish was crazy fresh, the rice was perfect, and the other fillings complimented the fish without overpowering it. The garnish was beautiful and delicious.

The restaurant was warm (unexpectedly so on a cold night, very nice) and well-lit with nice decor. The sushi counter was visible. Big windows overlooking Main Street.

The price was what you would expect for perfect sushi.

We never felt rushed, service and food delivery were as quick as you could want for sushi. The waitress let us know when it was "last call" for sushi which was appreciated since we did want to order more.

If I could give it more stars I would. There are a lot of great restaurants in the area, but this was a truly exceptional experience.

I was so impressed by both the server and the food quality. The overall experience was wonderful.

They do also have noodle dishes, but we...

I'm giving this place 1 star because even though the sushi was good, my experience picking up food was awful. I called in a small order after viewing their menu online, and expected a total of about $20. My husband went in to pick up our food and was charged $31, so I went back in to inquire. I was told by the waitress that their online menu isn't up to date with pricing, and I was charged extra because I "added crab" to my California Roll, then she said "I'm sorry we should have specified". Since I certainly never asked to "add crab" to anything and simply asked for a "California Roll", I told her I expected some of my money returned. I did get some money back after quite a wait, but I felt a lot of attitude despite the situation being clearly their fault. I later looked at their physical menu and saw that they charged me for what they now call a "Rockland Roll", which makes even less sense since I asked for a California Roll and that is also on their menu for less than half the price. Overall a major hassle and not worth even the...
